He felt Callippe Preserve does not sound like a golf course and wanted "golf course" as part of
the name. It would have been nice to have Pleasanton as part of the name too.

Mr. Wolfe said the intent is to call the course "Callippe Preserve Golf Course". The golf
course committee and Parks and Recreation Commission discussed the intent to put signage on
the course drawing attention to the all efforts made by the City to preserve the environment,
including the butterfly habitat. That was one of the reasons for including Preserve in the name.

Mr. Brozosky wanted something on the course or in the clubhouse to be named after
Randy Lum in honor of all the work he did for the community.

Mayor Pico also liked the name Callippe, but would like it to be the "Callippe Preserve in
Happy Valley".

It was moved by Mr. Campbell, seconded by Ms. Hosterman, to adopt Resolution
No. 03-077, selecting the name "Callippe Preserve" for the golf course.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Brozosky, Campbell, ltosterman, and Mayor Pico
NOES: Councllmember Ayala
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

Ms. Ayala wanted to make certain there will be a rate reduction for Pleasanton residents
and a tee time preference, similar to what Livermore does for its citizens.

Mr. Wolfe said those discussions have been had with the potential golf course operator.
The intention is to have a discounted rate and advanced tee times. That will come to Council for
final approval.

There was a break at 9:06 p.m.

The meeting reconvened at 9:12 p.m.

Item 6d
Allocation of HOME Funds for FY 2003/04. (SR 03:168

Steven Bocian presented the staff report.

Mr. Brozosky had concerns that Pleasanton was giving funding to another city and
getting no credit from the state for supplying affordable housing. He wanted some way to track
this so that when there is an evaluation of what the City has done, it can be included.

Pleasanton City Council 11 06/17/03
Minutes
