The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Campbell, Dennis, Michelotti, and Mayor Pico <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />RECOGNITION OF OUTGOING COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> <br /> David Ham, Post Commander for VFW Post 6298 presented a plaque to Sharrell <br />Miehelotti and thanked her for her support, especially her recent participation in the Veterans <br />Day Parade. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala said Ms. Dennis and Ms. Michelotti deserved a rest after so many years of <br />se~dce and being away from their families. She thanked both for all their years of service. <br /> <br /> Mayor Pico thanked them for the honor of serving with them. The last ten years (eight <br />with Sharrell Michelotti) have been great years for the City of Pleasanton. A great deal has been <br />accomplished with her support and leadership. He referred to the accomplishments during <br />Becky Dennis' term of office, including the Ridgelands Memorandum of Understanding, urban <br />growth boundaries, dwelling unit caps, sewer expansion agreements, the San Francisco Bernal <br />property, Vineyard Corridor development, the golf course, etc. He especially appreciated <br />working with Ms. Michelotti on the San Francisco Bemal property. On behalf of the City of <br />Pleasanton, he read a commendation for Becky Dennis and Sharrell Michelotti and presented <br />them with a key to the City. <br /> <br /> Ms. McKeehan indicated that tomorrow Ms. Dennis, as the Chair of the ABAG Green <br />Business Program, would be going to Sacramento to receive the Governor's Environmental and <br />Economic Leadership Award on behalf of ABAG. <br /> <br /> Ms. Dennis thanked the people of Pleasanton for the honor of serving them. She also <br />thanked City staff for their help. This has been a great experience and being a Councilmember is <br />a wonderful job. She felt people should take turns and was excited to welcome the two new <br />Councilmembers. She said Pleasanton was an extraordinary community. Councilmembers work <br />together, with staff and members of the community, to do the very best for the City. She <br />encouraged the new Councilmembers to look for the good. Everyone is right sometimes and <br />people don't always agree. She again thanked everyone and said they had accomplished a lot <br />together and more great things will be done in the future. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti echoed those eloquent remarks. She said she came to Pleasanton in 1975 <br />when her daughters were three and five years old. She raised her family in this wonderful <br />community. She thanked all those who were here then and who have since moved to Pleasanton <br />for providing her with the oppommity to be involved in such a wonderful community. Hopyard <br />Road used to flood, there were no traffic signals downtown, and there was a different <br />environment. She has seen Hacienda Business Park develop and many housing developments <br />have occurred.
