MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PLEASANTON CITY COUNCIL December 3, 2002 p.m. CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting of the City Council was called to order by Mayor Tom Pico at 7:07 Councilmember Campbell led the assembly in the pledge of allegiance. He welcomed everyone to the meeting. He noted the recent death of former Alameda County Supervisor Ed Campbell and extended his condolences to Mr. Campbell's family. He noted that two Councilmembers would be leaving the Council at this meeting. One of his favorite places is on top of the Pleasanton Ridge and every time he goes up there, he thanks Becky Dennis for her efforts in preserving it. He indicated Ms. Michelotti had been his mentor for that last two years and commented on the similarities in their family histories. He has looked up to her, respected her and will miss seeing at City Council meetings. He wished both Ms. Dennis and Ms. Michelotti happiness and success in their future. He also welcomed Steve Brozosky and Jennifer Hosterman and looked forward to working with them. We live in a democracy and he teaches civics every day, so this is an exciting time to see others take the oath of office to represent the people of the City in which they live. This is an incredible responsibility and the voters txust us to do the right thing. 2a. ROLL CALL City Clerk Peggy Ezidro called the roll, which is recorded as follows: Councilmembers present were Kay Ayala, Matt Campbell, Becky Dennis, Sharrell Michelotti, and Mayor Tom Pico. Staffmembers present were: Deborah McKeehan, City Manager and Michael Roush, City Attorney. It was moved by Ms. Miehelotti, seconded by Ms. Dennis, to adopt Resolution No. 02-129, canvassing the election returns and declaring the results of the November 5, 2002 Regular Municipal Election.
