Ms. McKeehan said that staff has been pursuing this, as has been for the past few
months.

Ms. Michelotti asked if the CMA item could be brought back for discussion. At
the Tri Valley Transportation Council meeting this month, they will be addressing some
of the same issues. Highway 84 has been a very high priority with TYTC and she would
not want to have a conflict take place.

Ms. McKeehan said there is a lot of information to go through and some of this is
a matter of timing, what order they happen, and what the ultimate proposal would be.

Ms. Michelotti agreed.

Mayor Pico said there has been no discussion at the CMA level at ail about this
subject. There have been some discussions at the Technical Advisory and Staff levels
only. The CMA is attempting to establish a place at which the Tri-Valley Task Force
will meet and this meeting will probably take place in July. There has been no action
taken by CMA and he would be glad to discuss this further with anyone. He felt it most
appropriate that Councilmembers get the new traffic report in order to look at this
complex issue.

Ms. Dennis was at the Tri Valley Business Council and there is a lot of interest
about just what are the trade offs and they would like to know what they could do to help.

Ms. Michelotti asked if the Commission appointment timetable could be moved
forward, citing a situation whereby a member was resigning just as other appointments
were being made. The next scheduled application period is in the fall. Should the
Council go through the application process and appoint someone to this recently vacated
commission seat?

Mayor Pico said the City would be advertising in July for vacancies, looking at
interviews taking place in September, with appointment in early October, possibly
sooner. He did not feel there was any urgency in this matter and felt no need to change
the process by only one month for one position. It will stay as scheduled.

6. PUBLIC HEARINGS AND OTHER MATTERS

Item 6a
Reconsideration
property.

of Council-sponsored initiative regarding the Bernal Avenue

Ms. McKeehan said the minutes from the April 16, 2002 City Council Meeting
were submitted because Council wanted to reconsider this item.

Mr. Campbell said his reason for reconsideration was because he thought about
the initiative that he originaily sponsored and he realized that he was going against the

Pleasanton City Council 6 06/04/02
Minutes
