Interchange? Has the Council established a City policy on cut-through traffic on
Hacienda and Santa Rita Roads when Dublin's IKEA project is completed? Although it
has been City Council policy and staff policy not to answer these types of questions
directly, he would be most pleased to hear Council's answers this evening. If this were
not possible, he would like to hear Council's response and would request this be set for
the agenda in order for the community to discuss further.

Ms. Ayala reminded the audience that if an item is not on the agenda, Council is
not able to have any type of discussion. She would be most happy to discuss this with
Mr. Cordtz and they could discuss putting it on the agenda under Item 7 - Matters
Initiated.

Lucie Marx Titus, 305 Sequoia Terrace, Danville, President of the Association of
the United States Army, spoke on behalf of an upcoming event taking place July 12-13
which is a salute to the Korean War Veterans. Veterans will be honored with a medal
that the Korean Cultural Foundation has designed. They presently have 300 applicants
who will be present at California High School in San Ramon on July 13 at 6:30 pm. She
presented Councilmembers with an invitation to the event and invited others in the
community to attend.

Howard Neely, 448 Amador, commented on the recent Val Vista Park dedication.
He continued by discussing the possibility of a downtown restroom. He also discussed
the possibility about the City building a downtown parking lot.

Mayor Pico closed Item 5 - Meeting Open to the Public and suggested that
Council move Item 7 - Matters Initiated to this point in the meeting. He asked if any
Councilmember had any item they would like to see on a future City Council agenda.

7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL

Ms. Ayala asked for a report from the Council's Congestion Management Agency
representative. She also was interested in an update on the IKEA project in Dublin, its
impact to the East Side Traffic Study and the effects this will possibly have on
Pleasanton. She also would like to see a report on Zone 7 and well sites in Pleasanton.
The financing plan for the Vineyard Corridor Infrastructure is another area of concern for
her and she would like to see something on an agenda.

Ms. McKeehan said the Vineyard Corridor is an item that will be on a future
agenda. She said the Traffic Study that Council has been waiting for, the first of many
traffic items that are coming, is going to the Planning Commission on June 12 and will
them come to the City Council. After that, the East Side Traffic Study will follow.

Mr. Campbell asked about the IKEA project in Dublin and if there was any
discussion about a Pleasanton/Dublin liaison meeting.

Pleasanton City Council 5 06/04/02
Minutes
