It was moved by Ms. Micheiotti, seconded by Ms. Ayala, to adopt Resolution <br />No. 02-064 establishing certain policies for the November 5, 2002 Municipal Election <br />and requesting consolidation with the Statewide general election; and establishing <br />the ballot language to read as follows: "Shah the Bernal Property Initiative, which <br />would (a) prohibit housing of any type on the city owned land within the Bernal <br />Specific Plan area, (b) prohibit the city from selling any of the land, and (c) mandate <br />that all uses on the city owned land be accessible to the public, be adopted?" <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Campbell, Dennis, Michelotti and Mayor Pico <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br />Item 6c <br />Resolution making application to the Alameda County Local Agency Formation <br />Commission for annexation of 526 acres in Happy Valley and approval of <br />Consultant Agreements for the Happy Valley Golf Course-Open Space Project. <br />(SR 02:130) <br /> <br />Mr. Lum presented the staff report. <br /> <br /> Mr. Campbell asked about the bypass road and wanted clarification as to what <br />that was. <br /> <br />Mr. Lum said the bypass road referred to on the staff report as to the flat area. <br /> <br />Mr. Campbell asked about the access road. <br /> <br />Mr. Lum said the access road referred to the road to the golf project itself. <br /> <br /> Bob Silva, vice chair of the Golf Course Committee, said he had been working for <br />a long time bringing a quality public golf course to the City of Pleasanton. The <br />Committee has worked very diligently with the citizens and staff and other interested <br />parties in moving this forward. They believe the design and the quality of the course that <br />are ready to be built will be a great asset and will provide great recreational and open <br />space additions to the community. He pointed out that the Committee was not charged <br />with land use decisions. They were charged with making sure there was a plan for a high <br />quality golf course in the community and they are proud of that. He complimented Mr. <br />Lum and the rest of City staffwho has worked so diligently in a very professional manner <br />in finding a way through the regulatory agencies to get to this point. <br /> <br /> Bill McGovem, Golf Course Committee member, seconded what Mr. Silva said, <br />especially with the work of City staff. He is amazed at what has been accomplished and <br />staff really deserves all of the praise, especially Mr. Lum.
