Mayor Pico believed that with the joint purchase of this property, there will be oversight
on the operation that was not there in the past.

Ms. Ayala said there is a two-car garage at this house and she wanted to require that at
least two cars be parked in the garage, to minimize the impact of additional parking in the
neighborhood.

Mayor Pico did not want to micromanage this to that level.

Ms. Ayala said she did not have a lot of faith in this project as it has been mn to date.
Because operating costs are not guaranteed, she did not want to approve an addition to the house
at this time, but to only do the renovations that would bring it up to standards.

Ms. Michelotti felt if something was going to be done on this house, now was the time to
do it, including the addition.

Mayor Pico commended County Supervisor Scott Haggerty for his leadership on
preserving this project, along with staff and the Human Services Commission.

Item 6d
Request from the Tri-Valley Business Council for Financial Support. The group will be contacting private agricultural land owners
with a plan to keep them in open space for the long term. She said the work of the property
owners, the Park District, trails advocates, and all others interested in this is to make sure there is
an economy for the open space lands that sustains those lands for the long tenn. She has enjoyed
working with them.

Ms. McKeehan indicated there is a letter from the Th-Valley Business Council that
indicates the funding would be used only for this purpose.

Ms. Ayala thanked Mr. O'Malley for the time he has spent in explaining this matter to
her. She has seen a lot of work done since last August and she has attended some meetings. She
was happy to see the involvement of the South Livermore Valley Agricultural Land Trust at one
of the meetings she attended. She wanted to make certain that organization continues to be part
of this process.

Tom O'Malley, Th-Valley Business Council, P. O. Box 3258, Livermore, indicated the
Land Trust has been involved from the time the agricultural task force studies were commenced.
John Norwood is part of the Agricultural Committee and the Water Committee.
