Mr. Campbell indicated he was looking forward to the partnership that Applied Biosystems can bring to a high school campus science department. He especially loved the incorporation of the DNA double helix in the corridor between the buildings. Ms. Michelotti indicated her concern had been that the appearance from the 680 corridor would remain the same with the knoll and trees. She also welcomed the company to Pleasanton. Ms. Ayala believed the company was a perfect for the city and was anxious for the project to proceed. Ms. Dennis felt the applicant set a great standard and the neighborhood, Planning Commission and applicant are to be congratulated on a good design. She was very excited about this. Item 6b PUD-99-01-2M~ Mardel LLC Application for a major modification to allow a one-year extension of the Planned Unit Development (PUD) approval for a new 12-lot residential subdivision located at 4456 Foothill Road. Zoning for the properS, is PUD-RDR/LDR (Planned Unit Development - Rural Density. Residential/Low Densi .ty Residential) District. (SR 01:270) Brian Swift presented the staff report. Mr. Campbell asked if additional conditions regarding affordable housing could be added at this time. Mr. Swift said that could not be done unless the applicant had requested a change to the project. He pointed out that this project, at twelve units, is below the threshold for the inclusionary housing ordinance to apply. Phil Rowe, Mardell LLC, supported the staff recommendations. It was moved by Ms. Michelotti, seconded by Ms. Ayala, to introduce Ordinance No. 1846, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, approving a one-year extension of the planned unit development approval, as ~ed under Case PUD-99-01-02M.
