It was moved by Ms. Ayala, seconded by Ms. Dennis, to approve the Consolidated
Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) for fiscal year 2000 (2000/2001) and
direct staff to submit the CAPER to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development (HUD).

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers- Ayala, Campbell, Dennis, Michelotti, and Mayor Pico
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None

7. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL

Ms. Michelotti referred to the comments made by Mr. Kimber regarding the Pleasant
Plaza Shopping Center and asked if staffwanted to respond or give input as to the process that is
going on.

Ms. McKeehan suggested a report be drafted on what has been occurring. Staffdoes not
view the history in the same way as Mr. Kimber.

Ms. Michelotfi reminded Ms. McKeehan to contact Mr. Cordtz with the exact amount of
the collected in-lieu fees.

Ms. Dennis referred to the comments about the condition of the cemetery and asked if
there was anything staff can do to assist Mr. Hadley.

Ms. McKeehan said staff could try to enforce the property maintenance ordinance in this
area. Cemeteries are regulated by their own industry, but she agreed the condition of this one is
really a shame.

Ms. Dennis urged staff to talk to representatives of the Odd Fellows to resolve this
situation.

Mayor Pico suggested sending a letter to the Cemetery and Funeral Bureau expressing
concerns about the maintenance of that facility.

Ms. Michelotti asked for a timeline regarding decisions that have to be made in
conjunction with the Standard Pacific project and the issue of the Stoneridge Drive extension.

Ms. McKeehan indicated the east side traffic study is in progress. By the end of
November, the City is required to tell Standard Pacific which location is preferred for the
Stoneridge extension. Originally staff believed a decision on the extension to E1 Charro had to
be made by that time, however after discussions, it has been determined that the location can be
selected without deciding whether or not the roadway actually goes through. That would give

Pleasanton City Council 25 09/18/01
Minutes
