Mr. Wagner said he would sum up and Councilmembers could read the statement
he has furnished each Councilmember. He strongly suggested that the City hold the
annexation election now to find out what the people really want and quit wasting staff
time and money getting cost estimates and economic analysis, etc., etc., for the golf
course project when they may not be needed. He said he thinks that the staff plan of
holding off the annexation until October is getting the cart before the horse and shows a
complete lack of honesty and integrity. If the City does not want to call the Happy
Valley course off now, at least hold the annexation vote now, so the Councilmembers
know where the concerned people stand.

A1 Spotomo, PO Box 487, said he would not go into a long dissertation, and that
he appreciated Council's decision to postpone the annexation until some of these
problems can be properly resolved to everyone's mutual satisfaction. He said he would
like to present his statement of the family position and bring Councilmembers up to date
as to where they stand in this whole procedure. He thanked Council for its consideration
of his written documentation and making it part of the official record.

Mayor Pico said that was the last speaker card on the Consent Calendar items.

Ms. Michelotti said that on Item 4K, Reschedule May 1, 2001 City Council
meeting to May 8, 2001, she would be out of town during that time and had scheduled the
time she was going to be away around the Council meeting being on the prior date.

The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Dennis, Michelotti and Mayor Pico
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilmember Campbell
ABSTAIN: None

OATH OF OFFICE FOR NEWLY APPOINTED COMMISSION/COMMITTEE
MEMBERS

Mayor Pico asked Vice Mayor Michelotti to hand out plaques for the outgoing
Commissioners as he called the names of the recipients.

Eddie Richardson, Youth Commissioner, expressed his thanks for five years of
wonderful memories.

Mayor Pico said that this is a fine example of the youth in the community and that
Mr. Richardson served as the Chair of the Youth Commission and has been involved in in
numerable ways. The City would miss his participation.

Nato Meeks, Economic Vitality Committee Member, said he was moving to
Monterey because of his change in position at Ponderosa Homes. He said he has many of

Pleasanton City Council 4 04/17/01
Minutes
