Ms. McKeehan pointed out that Ms. Michelotti was the altemate for the
committee.

Mayor Pico mentioned concerns expressed by Ms. Dennis about having an
additional liaison to the Vision 2010 Committee.

Ms. Michelotti indicated she had been participating on the transportation
subcommittee and would continue to be a part of this. She believed there was room for
many people to participate on this and welcomed other Councilmembers to work on this.

It was moved by Ms. Michelotti, seconded by Mr. Campbell, to adopt
Resolution No. 01-003, approving the Mayor's appointments to local and regional
boards, committees and commissions.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Campbell, Dennis, Michelotti, and Mayor Pico
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
ABSTA1N: None

Item 6a
Consideration of the request to add a Parks and Recreation Commission
Representative on the Bernal Property Task Force (Phase II). (SR 01:009)

James W. Wolfe presented the staff report.

Mayor Pico asked staffabout the status of the Task Force and whether there were
representatives from other commissions.

Ms. McKeehan indicated that all the groups with appointments had been
contacted to verify the current appointments and a report would be coming to Council
soon. To her knowledge, there were no other Commissions represented on the Task
Force.

Mayor Pico expressed his concern that if a Parks and Recreation Commissioner is
appointed to the Task Force, then other Commissioners will also want a representative.
He felt that when the Task Force was established, all the major interests were
represented.

Ms. Dennis felt the Parks and Recreation Commission was primarily concerned
with the coordination of Phase I and Phase II. She felt the commission could send a
liaison member to follow the procedures without having a voting member.

Mr. Wolfe indicated the Parks and Recreation Commission wanted a voting
member.

Pleasanton City Council 5 01/09/01
Minutes
