(SR 00:202) <br /> <br />Steven Bocian presented the staff report. <br /> <br />Mayor Tarver wanted to add a provision to purchase 1200 or 1300 sq. ft. houses. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pico was concerned that the City would be in competition with individuals <br />trying to purchase homes of that size. He preferred using this program for multiple units <br />or rentals. lie also would like to include mobile home parks. That is where the most <br />affordable housing is. <br /> <br />Ms. Dennis l¥1t this was just maother tool to use and is flexible. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ayala did not believe s~affwas going to bid against individuals on the open <br />market. The Housing Commission had suggested purchasing housing in other cities and <br />asked if this program did that, <br /> <br />Mr. Bocian said no. <br /> <br />There were no speakers on this item. <br /> <br /> Ms, Michelotti wins not comfortable including single family detached homes in <br />the program. She felt the current selling price for a 1300 sq. ft. house was quite high, <br />She supported being able to take advantage of an opportunity to purchase a multi-ihmily <br />dwelling project <br /> <br /> Mr. Bocian indicated staff has approached property owners with affordable unit <br />requirements that are about to expire.
