At least with the 1900 unit plan Pleasanton could have some housing <br />and people cotrid live and work in Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> Dolores Bengtson, 568 Hamilton Way, felt this was now becoming an election <br />issue. Pleasanton is presented a plan that is wonderful because of the open land <br />available. The next step is to decide what will be put onto that land. She called attention <br />to the open space. She said she looked at the plan and l~lt that the plan pmsentad some <br />serious problems. There is a great expectation by the golfing community that there will <br />be a golf course on this property and she has problems with this as it is designed by <br />Greenbriar to support a golf course. She expressed concerns about the placement of <br />homes on the property and the golf course. She said lhere is a lot of expectations for this <br />property and fek that they all cannot be met on this property. She expressed concern over <br />the total number of housing units in Pleasanton. She felt people should have a very clear <br />option on this proposal, including the open space. <br /> <br /> Robert Cordtz, 262 West Angela Street, felt it was difficult to get any information <br />on the project. He would like the same intbrmation that Council received available to the <br />public. He said he has been to the Planning Commission and cannot get the colored <br />layout. He said another issue not yet discussed is the bridge for Laguna Oaks and <br />Windsor. He wanted to see the City Council make up its mind and get on with this <br />project. <br /> <br /> Gerry Brunken, 1753 Paseo Del C~jon, spoke on the exclusionary and elitist <br />thoughts in the City of Pleasanton that have developed over the last eight years. He said <br />this primarily has to do with housing. Thc Bernai Plan did not have to be 1900 homes. It <br />could have been voted on a long time ago and it should have been. However, over the <br />years a majority of councilmembers have rejected this plan because they want something <br />different. This political situation started long before CAPP. He said he wants morn <br />affordable homes on the Bemal Property. He said there is no communication in the City <br />of Pleasanton, except for insiders. He said he has to go down to City Hall after every <br />meeting and find the staff report that pertains to what he wants to discuss. He says he <br />cannot come here within five minutes of hearing everyone else speak and speak <br />intelligently on thc inntier. He discussed the matter of the San Francisco plan for 1,900 <br />homes. He said that he wants to vote on both proposals. <br /> <br /> Gloria Davis, 2354 Meadowlark Drive, a member of the Windsor Homeowners <br />Association, said the residents have never been able to get in or out of their development <br />using their main access. They have been told that when the Bemal Property gets <br />developed this will be taken case of. They want something to happen, however the traffic <br />and safety of their development is uppermost in their minds. She said that ril?dat now it is <br />frightening. They cannot get safely in or out of the development in their cars, let along <br />send the children any place using bicycles. They cannot use a park because they do not <br />have one. She said they have been waiting six years for this to be resolved. She <br />expressed concern about an interchange and the impact it will have on the homes in the <br />Windsor area.
