It was moved by Ms. Michelotti, seconded by Ms. Ayala, to refer this ordinance back to the Planning Commission and Housing Commission for review at a joint meeting and for review of the moderate and low income housing fees with consideration being given to the ABAG determinations. Mayor Tarver wanted a letter sent to the State Department of Community Housing and Development indicating dissatisfaction with ABAG. ABAG has no regard tbr the growth limits and urban growth boundary limits adopted by the citizens. He felt there could be a state initiative regarding this. Citizens will not put up with the State dictating what the citizens should accept with regard to housing. Ms. Ayala agreed. Mr. Swirl said that could be done, but the best place to start was with ABAG. Mayor 'larver believed the City should withdraw from the Association of Bay Area Governments and withdraw its funding.
