Jim Hoge, 739 C Main Street, Pleasanton, rapresenting TTK Partnership, assured
the Council that the TTK Partnership remains fully commitled to the completion of thc
project as soon as possible. TTK understands the dilemma faced by the City, but TTK is
a family partnership and not a developer and therefore does not have access to the fimds
that some developers have available. TTK has offered to rei~nburse whoever fronts the
cost of getting the permits on the stone basis that was offered for the water and sewer
reimbursement. He thrther stated that TTK viewed any suspension of the project as a
termination of the project. TTK supports this project. it is the right project for the right
place at the fight time and he implored the City to continue work on this project; TTK
will cooperate with the City to bring this to a successful conclusion the best it can.

Jack Hovingh, 4250 Muir, vood Drive, expressed his concern about the mount of
monies spent for the golf course with nothing from it, and understands the permitting
process and the environmental process. He expressed his suppert for the staff
recommendation of suspension and appreciates that it was pursued in good faith. tie
that staff had done an excellent job in spite of the environmental conditions and urged
Council to support staff recommendations.

There were no other public speakers.

Councilmember Dermis suppoaed the staff recommendation and felt that much
good work from the community and staff had gone into this project. She hoped that the
City would find partners in this process, given the great opportunity and the investment
that had been made by the City. She further stated that it would be difficult to justify any
further expenditure under the now uncertain conditions.

Councilmember Ayala cormnented that she held the same hope as
Councilmember Dennis and as the work has proceeded, there was some hesitation about
the total dollars being spent as they were mounting. Four developers have spoken to her
saying they know how to get through the permitting process and she hoped that
developers) will come forward and show and/or assist the City. She thanked the Golf
Course Committee for all of the work they have done on this project. She supports the
suspension because she feels that this is as lax as the City can go on this project.

Commissioner Michelotti expressed her sadness at the current situation of lids
project. The project has grown from approximately $18 million to approximately $22
million. She is concerned about the bottom line and the environmental issues and 'alter
spending $g50,000 on the permitting process alone, there is a need to spend an additional
$200,000 to $500,000 more just to get through the permitting process ttmt allows for
development, without knowing what mitigation measures are ahead. It is her hope that
the people who have been involved in this project would come forth with a plan and
perhaps pay for this incrementally. She felt that the recommended action be taken.

Vice Mayor Pico echoed the commems of his li:llow councihnembers and
indicated his regret at this decision. He also thanked the Golf Course Committee for all
of its hard work and expressed his hope that this work would not be in vain.
