Batty, Paula Plunk, Denise Eichenberg, Leeann Light, Paul Wheeler, Toni Hume, Eileen <br />Lubo~v, Carol Crane, Sally Wyatt, Laura Danielson, and Chris Peterson. <br /> <br /> A commendation was given recognizing the Pleasanton Lions Club on its 70m <br />A~miversary. <br /> <br /> A commendation was given to William Rembaugh for being Outstanding <br />Crossing Guard of the Year. <br /> <br />Mr. Rembaugh thanked everyone for the recognition. <br /> <br />5. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> The following students from a third grade class at Mohr Elementary School <br />thanked the Mayor for coming to the class to read to them: Holly Powers, Ailsa Smith, <br />Nick Mavrogiauls, Clayton Cullice, and Alex Mavrogianis. <br /> <br /> Donna Cabanne, 4086 Loch Lomand, Livermorn, representing the Tri-Valley <br />Siena Club, indicated she haS attended a hearing in Hayward last night, which is one of <br />two scheduled tbr the EIR on the North Livermore Specific Plm~. The second hearing is <br />being held in Livermore this evening. She believed the plan will aSd 12,500 houses and <br />will have a massive impact on the Tri-Valley area including adding traffic, impacts on <br />xvater supplies, sewer capacity-, electrical power and loss of open space and habitat. All <br />this will affect Pleasanton residents and she aged Council to request a hearing on the <br />EIR to be held in the City of Pleasm~ton to allow residents to receive information and be <br />heard. <br /> <br /> Pat Murray, 4470 Mirador Drive, rel~rred to a discussion at a previous meeting <br />about new housing and the addition of 1400 trips per day. She did not think anyone <br />addressed the impact of this traffic on Bemal Avenue and Sunul Boulevard. She said <br />Sunul Boulevard narrows to two lanes and she believed people were driving recklessly in <br />places. Tills added traffic will affect the neighborhoods and the thoroughfares in and out <br />of town. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelutti explained that the discussion she was referring to was regarding <br />the Kaiser Aluminum application, which was a commercial development, not housing, <br />This could provide jobs for people who live in town, so them would be less impact on <br />trallic. <br /> <br /> Ms. Murray did not believe that office workers could aflbrd to live in Pleasanton <br />and would be using the freeways to commute from other locations as well as cutting <br />through Pleasanton neighborhoods. <br /> <br /> Carole Varela, 3858 Mohr Avenue, described the Tri-Valley Sierra Club <br />membership and officers and related her cfti>rts in gathering signatures for the Cotrely <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council 5 05/16/00 <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />
