It was moved by Ms. Michelotti, seconded by Ms. Dennis, to adopt Resolution No. 00-040, approving the request of Passport Homes to reconsider condition No. 6 (School Condition) for PUD-98-08 The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers - Ayala, Dennis, Michclotti, Pico, and Mayor Tarver NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None Item 6e Annrovai of nronosed nroiects to be funded through the Federal Community Develonment Block Grant (CDBG) Program for fiscal years 2000. 2001. and 2002. (SR 00:100) Councilmember Pico abstained from this item because property he owns is adjacent to the Valley Community Health Center and one of the other properties that are part of the grant approvals which will be for physical improvements to the properties and may indirectly effect the value of his property. Steven Bocian presented the staff report. Mayor Tarver declared the public hearing open. Bruce Fiedler, on behalf of Spectrum Community Services, thanked the Council for its past support of Valley Kitchen and Meals on Wheels. The elderly need food as much as they need medication. They also need someone to see them on a regular basis to provide conversation and someone to notice a change in their conditions. As administrator of Pleasanton Gardens for fifteen years, he thanked Council for its support of that facility and assistance in maintaining the appearance of the facility and support for the quality of life of the residents. There are three more projects for the coming years. Mayor Tarver expressed his appreciation for Mr. Fiedler's management of that facility. Sophia Klegg, Executive Director of Spectmrn Community Services, thanked Council for its support of the meals program and allowing the use of the kitchen at Ridge View Commons. She indicated the food is of better quality when prepared closer to the delivery area and also indicated the evening meal program is doing well.
