Sharrell Michelotti, 7873 Olive Court, requested a minor change in the minutes of
October 18, 1994 to change the direction of the right-turn arrow she had mentioned.

Gary Schwaegerle, 189 W. Angela, questioned whether the fluoride in the water was at
a safe level. Staff assured him that all regulations are being followed and the fluoride is safe.

5. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Brad Hirst, Chairman of the Centennial Committee, presented the final report on the
Centennial Celebration activities, a copy of which is attached.

Harold Coursey, President of the Pleasanton Downtown Association, presented a report
on the activities of the Marketing Committee and an accounting of expenditures. A summary
dated April 7, 1994 is attached.

Wallace H. Mayer, Jr., 5872 Corte Mente, requested Council to repeal the regulation
requiting campaign disclosure for donations of $25.00 and more. He believed it was
cumbersome and does not accomplish what Council intended. The regulations of the State of
California are adequate to disclose who supports political candidates.

Merilynne O'Brien, 1098 Touriga Drive, inquired when the Council would review
recreational vehicle parking regulations. Ms. Acosta indicated this issue is scheduled for
December 6, 1994.

lid Churka, 507 St. John Street, representative of the Pleasanton Railroad Association,
expressed his desire to preserve the grade crossing at the proposed Junipero Street extension.
He was concerned that the previous staff report made no mention of funding for the grade
crossing, nor did it mention the Alameda County Transportation Corridor. He stressed the
importance of not lowering the grade crossing more than 1%. He believed the steam train tracks
~v{mtd be installed and the trains runnir, g bv 1906.

Mr. Lum indicated the road will be designed so as not to affect the level of the grade
crossing. The funding of approximately $250,000 for the signals at the crossing is not included
in the current project.

Mr. Churka indicated that if the crossing were constructed with pads similar to the Union
Pacific crossings, the PRA would cooperate later on to install the signal lights. He reiterated
the necessity of having PRA involved in the desig~Fof this project.

Mr. Tarver clarified that Mr. Churka was requesting staff to coordinate the road building
process with him and the PRA. Mr. Tarver requested this be on a future agenda.

11/01/94
-3-
