Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> Mr. Marvin Smith, 1818 Halcyon Court, representing Valley Community Church, <br />requested City Council approval of this application. <br /> <br />No one in the audience spoke in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing <br />closed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that <br />Ordinance No. 952, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br />approving the application of Valley Conmunity Church to rezone the approximately <br />2.3 acre site located on the north and west of their proposed church site at the <br />northeast end of Del Valle Parkway approximately 200 feet east of Harvest Road <br />from "Public and Institutional" to "Planned Unit Development-Medium Density Resi- <br />dential" District and amending the Zoning Map of the City of Pleasanton accordingly, <br />be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Kephart, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Application of the Southern Pacific Railroad for a general plan amendment which would <br />change the land use designation of an approximately 0.8~ acre parcel bounded by Abbie <br />Street, First Street, Angela Street and the SPRR right-of-way from "Open Space-Parks <br />and Recreation" to "Commercial and Offices". The City Council may recommend approval <br />of this application as requested or may recommend any other designation it deems <br />appropriate <br /> <br />On the basis of an Initial Study of the potential environmental impacts of this <br />project, the Director of Planning and Community Development has determined that <br />the proposed project would not have any potential significant adverse effects on <br />the environment and that an environmental impact report need not be prepared. This <br />Initial Study is available for review at the Planning Division, 200 Bernal Avenue, <br />Pleasanton. Comments on this decision may be directed to the Planning staff prior <br />to the above meeting, or directly to the City Council at the above noticed meeting <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 80:340) dated November 18, 1980, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on the application and the Negative <br />Declaration. <br /> <br /> Mr. Oscar Osness, representing Southern Pacific Railroad Company, stated he con- <br />curred with the staff report and Planning Commission recommendation for approval of <br />this item. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in opposition to the application or Negative De- <br />claration. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing <br />closed on the application and the Negative Declaration. <br /> <br />6. 11/25/80 <br /> <br /> <br />
