Direct staff to prepare a modification to the original RFP and invite modified <br />proposals from the top four firms identified in the prior RFP process for the <br />Assisted Living Facility Project. (SR 99:346) <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />Approve the applications for closure of streets for special events during 2000. <br />(SR 994:348) <br /> <br />Authorizes the City Manager to execute a First-Responder Reimbursement <br />Agreement with the Alameda County Emergency Medical Services District. <br />(SR 99:350) <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers -Ayala, Dennis, Michelotti, Pico, and Mayor Tarver <br />NOES: Mayor Tarver on items 4d and 4n <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: Councilmember Pico on item 4n <br /> <br />5. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> <br /> Gail Gilpin made a presentation honoring businesses in operation in Pleasanton <br />for over twenty years. Mayor Tarver presented an etched display piece to each of the <br />following businesses: Kie-Con, Can-Am Plumbing, Inc., Cardinal Jewelers, Sunshine <br />Saloon, L. Bruce Merrill, D.D.S., and Valley Crest. <br /> <br /> Teresa Mendonca, 8116 Canyon Creek Circle, asked for approval to erect a tent in <br />the street for a New Year's Eve party. She said it would not block the street and the <br />proposal would leave 18 feet clearance pursuant to the request of the Fire Department. <br />The Fire Department has still denied the request. <br /> <br /> Ms. Acosta suggested that she meets again with the Fire Department in the <br />morning and tries to work this out. <br /> <br /> Jorge Victoria, 7703 Fairbrook Court, presented an update on the status of the <br />fund raising efforts that took place in Pleasanton's sister city, Tulancingo, Mexico. He <br />read a letter from the President of the committee of sister cities in Mexico expressing <br />appreciation to Pleasanton and its citizens. He presented pictures to Council from <br />Tulancingo. Mr. Victoria indicated that the various organizations, schools and citizens of <br />Pleasanton raised almost $90,000. He especially thanked the Pleasanton youth for fund <br />raisers that contributed $5,000. <br /> <br /> Ms. Dennis acknowledged that it takes a long time for a community to recover <br />from a natural disaster like this and asked Mr. Victoria to continue to keep the Council <br />informed on the progress of the recovery. <br /> <br />Pleasanton City Council 4 12/07/99 <br />Minutes <br /> <br /> <br />
