MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Peter Allen, 9232 Klemetson Drive, representing the homeowners association for
The Preserve, felt there would be a problem with cut through traffic from Dublin Canyon
Road and requested a gate on Laurel Creek Drive at Dublin Canyon Road. People can
still have access to the public trail system from Stoneridge Drive. He asked that Laurel
Creek Drive not be opened until a decision is made on the gate. He stated that the cost of
the gate would be paid for by the homeowners association and indicated Presley Homes
had no objection to the proposal.

Ms. Acosta indicated the Brown Act prevents Council from taking action on the
item at this meeting. After further discussion, it was recommended that the normal
process would be to refer this to the Traffic Committee for review.

Mr. Lum indicated staff had been discussing this issue and are doing traffic
studies regarding travel times on various routes and possible traffic calming options.

Jan Batcheller. 164 Main Street, Suite C, indicated she had been contacted by the
Police Department regarding the theft of No on D signs and she has filed a complaint
against the person arrested. She indicated the police directed her to the back of
Walgreens where she saw a dumpster full of No on D signs. That process has taken longer than he hoped. He
has conferred with Greg Plucker conceming the signage that has been submitted. Signs
are proposed on both the south and west facing portions of the building and the proposed
location is quite high on the building as viewed from Bemal Avenue. First floor signage
is recommended to be near entrances, not on the rears of buildings. Consideration was
given to installing a monument sign at the comer to give identi~' to the building, but that

Pleasanton City Council 4 11/02/99
Minutes
