It was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded by Councilman Reid that the public <br />hearing on the application of Larsen-Gerton Realty be re-scheduled for 8:00 P.M., <br />on July 7, 1969. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Consideration and Adoption,of .the Prgposed 1969-70. Budget, Salary and Related <br />Benefit Recommendations <br /> Mr. Fales stated that the Study Session on the proposed 1969-70 Budget, Salary <br />and Related Benefit Recommendations was scheduled for June 24th. <br /> Mayor Getton declared the public hearing open. <br /> Mrs. Helen Henshaw, 6070 Inglewood Drive, representing Casas Buenas, objected <br />to the City charging Kottinger Village for services. <br /> Mayor Getton informed Mrs. Henshaw that this matter will be considered at the <br />Study Session. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the <br />public hearing be continued to June 30, 1969. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> Cit ' . <br />Discussion and Decision Re: y s Position re~ar~!n~ Bay Fill Legislation <br /> Councilman Reid initiated discussion on what position the City should take <br />regarding the Bay Fill Legislation. Mr. Fales explained the definition of a legal <br />shore line. <br /> Mayor Getton asked the staff to obtain a copy of the resolution adopted by the <br />City of Livermore regarding this Legislation. <br /> Mr. Fales was asked to contact Mr. Herb Crowle, Alameda County Director of <br />Public Works, and invite him to speak to the City Council on this matter. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br />~uDplemental Report of the City Council Citizens' Advisory Committee on Human <br />Relations <br /> Mr. Bill Amis, Chairman of the Citizens' Advisory Committee on Human Relations, <br />briefly reviewed the Committee's report. Mr. Amis also explained the contribu- <br />tions the various members of the Committee had made to the report. He also ad- <br />vised the Council that he had formed a sub-committee on "Youth under 25 years of <br />Age" of which Mr. Dale Mead is Chairman and that a report from this sub-committee <br />would be forthcoming in a few days. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the <br />report of the City Council Citizens' Advisory Committee on Human Relations be <br />accepted and a study session on this report be tentatively scheduled for July 21, <br />1969. <br />The rol! call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> There were no reports of Boards and Commissions other than those submitted <br />with items on the Consent Calendar. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Report ~f the Director of Public Works Re: Progress RepOrt re~arding. truck routes <br /> Mr. Fales stated that the Sand and Gravel Committee had no objections to the <br />proposed truck routes. <br /> Mr. Hirst was instructed to draft an ordinance regarding the truck route as <br />prepared by the Director of Public Works. <br /> <br />Further Report Re: Re~ulatien of Speed of Trains. through Pl~asanton and Blocking <br />by Trains of Street-Railroad Cro.~Sings <br /> Mr. Fales stated that the City Attorney had prepared a report regarding this <br />matter, in August, 1968, and at that time the Council postponed action until a <br />report from the Chief of Police was submitted regarding the practical aspects of <br />enforcement. Mr. Fales stated that the Police report, which was forwarded to the <br />Council, stated that the enforcement of an ordinance of this type is difficult but <br />can be done by contacting the railroad investigators and advising them of the in- <br />fractions of the railroad engineers. <br /> 2. <br /> <br /> <br />
