i9 <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding a pedestrian crosswalk to the park and school site. <br />Mrs. Alice Morrison, 3575 Chippendale Court, expressed her fears for children <br />walking over the driveways of the six-plexes. Mr. Campbell explained that vehicles <br />leaving the complex would ba driving forward which was far less dangerous than <br />backing out onto the street. <br /> Mr. Castro explained the provisions of both the old zoning ordinance and the <br />new Ordinance No. 520, as related to this rezoning. <br /> After considerable discussion, it was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and <br />seconded by Councilman Reid that the public hearing be closed. <br />The roll qall vote was as..~ol~9~s: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> After continued discussion at Council level, it was moved by Councilman <br />Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that Ordinance No. 559, amend- <br />iug Ordinance No. 520 and existing P.U.D. No. 69-1, in order to apply final <br />zoning as an RM-15 District, from an RM-25 District, for that property located <br />north of West Las Positas Boulevard and west of Fairlands Drive and containing <br />approximately 2.1 acres, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was asjol!pws: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis <br />that Resolution No. 69-130, approving the Final Development Plan for P.U.D. 69-1, <br />as recommended in Planning Commission Resolution No. 69-45, and subject to the <br />conditions recommended by the Director of Public Works by memorandum, dated May <br />8, 1969, and subject to the further condition that the applicant will work with <br />the Planning and Public Works Departments to locate a pedestrian walkway, provid- <br />ing access to the school site and park from the area covered by the Final Develop- <br />ment Plan, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote wa.~ a~ follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />MATTERS C. No. 5~Q rezon!n~ from the RM-15, RM~25 and <br />R-1Distr.icts, to. th@..RM-.~5~ RM-20 and R-1 Districts that..propert~ located on the <br />west side of Santa Rite Road across from Mohr Avenue, pnd containing aDDro~imate!Y <br />41 acres <br />' 'Mr. Fales reported that this ordinance was introduced on May 19th and was ~ <br />placed on the agenda for May 26th, at which time action to adopt the ordinance was <br />postponed to the June 2nd meeting~ inasmuch as Mayor Getton and Councilman Reid <br />were absent and Legislative Procedure Policy of the City Council would require an <br />affirmative vote by a majority of the Council members. Mr. Fales also reported <br />that the motion waiving the reading of this ordinance had been passed. <br /> After briefly reviewing this matter, it was moved by Councilman Beratlis and <br />seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos that Ordinance No. 557, amending Ordinance <br />No. 520, rezoning from the RM-15, RM-25 and K-1 Districts, to the RM-15, RM-20 <br />and R-1 Districts that property located on the west side of Santa Rite Road across <br />from Mohr Avenue, and containing approximately 41 acres, be adopted. <br />The roll ca~l vote was as follows_: <br />b'~ES: Councilmen Beratlis, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />NOES: Councilmen Rega and Reid <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Discussion and Decision Re: ~ity!_S Pos~itign r.e~ardin~ Bay._..Fill Le~islat]on <br /> Councilman Reid requested that this matter be continued until after it had been <br />discussed at both the ABAG meeting on June 11, 1969, and at the Mayor's Conference <br />on June 12, 1969. He recommended that the Council should take a strong position <br />in this matter but not support any particular legislation. <br /> Mr. Fales was asked to put this matter back on the agenda after the two cited <br />meetings had been held. <br /> <br /> <br />
