He also explained that the entire staff of the 7th Step Foundation <br />are exconvtcts and how they are assisting in the fight against juvenile delinquency <br />and have pledged themselves to help other exconvicts. Mr. Moniz concluded his re- <br />port by asking the City Council to assist in establishing an organization in <br />Pleasanton. He also stated that his organization has offices in the VCEOO Office <br />in Livermore. <br /> Mr. Willie Wilkins, also a member of the 7th Step Foundation staff, collaboratec <br />with Mr. Moniz in the importance of having such an organization working in Pleasan- <br />ton. <br /> Chief of Police Walter McCloud reported on the drug abuse by juveniles in this <br />community and stated that the only solution which appears to be effective is a <br />well-rounded educational program directed at the youth, even as young as the sixth <br />graders. <br /> Judge William Gale and Mr. Dan Estorga, President of the Highland Oaks Home- <br />owners Association, both reported on juvenile delinquency. <br /> <br />MJBLIC HEARINGS <br />~p~lication of the Planning Commission for an amendmen.t, to Ord.
