ReSulating Card Rooms~.,.Card TableS~ and the. use <br /> thereof for Gambling <br /> Mr. Raymond Baker, representing Mr. & Mrs. Shaw, owners of the Pastime Pool <br /> Club, requested that the City Council continue this Public Hearing to April 14th, <br /> in order to allow him additional time to study the proposed ordinance. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis <br /> that this public hearing be continued at 8:00 P.M., on April 14, 1969, at the <br /> request of the applicant. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Rega <br /> <br /> M~TTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> Discussion Re: Proppsed Quarry on App.erson RidSe <br /> Mr. Fales reviewed the action that has been taken by various concerned Com- <br />missions regarding this proposed quarry on Apperson Ridge. <br /> After considerable discussion on this matter, it was moved by Councilman <br /> SpiliotoDoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the City Council not take <br /> a position on the proposed quarry on Apperson Ridge because of it not being within <br /> the Pleasanton General Plan area. <br /> Councilman Reid stated that he felt the City Council should take a position on <br />this matter and as a substitute motion, moved, and was seconded by Councilman <br />Beratlis, that this matter be continued until the Valley Planning Committee report <br />is reviewed, before a position is taken by the City Council on the proposed quarry <br />oD Apperson Ridge. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilman Beratlis, Reid and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: Councilman Spiliotopoulos <br />ABSENT: Councilman Rega <br /> <br />Mayor Gerton recessed the meeting at 10:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Mayor Gerton reconvened the meeting at 10:44 P.M. <br /> <br />~PECIAL REPORTS(Continued} <br />I~eDort Re: Action_b_y__Zone No. 7 at their meeting of March 19~ 1969, rej]ar~~ <br />~7~truction of flood control facilities along the Arroyo Mocho between tleDyard <br />~,A.~ Santa Rita Roads <br /> Mr. Fales reviewed his report, dated March 28, 1969, on the recent Zone 7 Bosrd <br />Action regarding the improvement of the Arroyo Mocho. <br /> Judge William Gale, representing the Industrial Committee of the Chamber of <br />Commerce, stated that the Zone 7 staff has been directed by their Board to proceed <br />width the engineering design of the Mocho from Hopyard to Santa Rita Road and to <br />negotiate with the Southern Pacific Company for the construction of new railroad <br />bridges at Tassajara and Mocho and to negotiate with the City of Pleasanton for the <br />construction for a new Santa Rita Bridge. <br /> Judge Gale also reported that their bond funds cannot be used to improve the <br />quality of the water being used. <br /> Mayor Gerton thanked Judge Gale for his report. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> Reports of Boards and Commissions were listed on the Consent Calendar. <br /> <br />PFPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Fvrther consideration of the Requested Rate Increase for Tele-Vue Systems, Inc. <br /> Mr. Fales stated that he had received correspondence regarding installation <br />charges and the poor level of service, and recommended these letters be considered <br />at the Public Hearing. <br /> Councilman Beratlis questioned a method of computation and asked Mr. Edgar <br />to have the City's Accountant determine this method. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilmst~ Reid that the <br />Public Hearing on the rate increase for Tele-Vue Systems be set for 8:00 P.M. on <br />May 5, 1969. <br /> <br /> <br />
