223 <br /> <br />Report of the Plag~nM Commission Re: Formation of Parkin~ Districts in the Down- <br />town Area <br /> Mr. Fales suggested that this report be referred to the City staff to be <br /> utilized with other material in the current studies regarding the feasibility <br /> and timing of establishing parking districts in the downtown area. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Rega that the <br />report of the Planning Commission regarding the formation of Parking Districts <br />in the downtown area be referred to the City staff for further study. <br />The r911 call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Mayor Gerton recessed the meeting at 9:50 P.M. <br /> <br />Mayor Getton reconvened the meeting at 10:07 P.M. <br /> <br />Report of the P!annin~ Commission Re:. Johnson_yolkswa~on Center as ~ohnsgn Dr.Ave <br /> Mr. Fales reviewed the report of the Planning Commission which recommended <br />naming the frontage road serving the keyhold C. Johnson Volkswagon Center as <br />Johnson Drive. <br /> After objections by the Councilmen to set a precedent by naming the street <br />after an individual company in the industrial center, it was moved by Councilman <br />Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos that the matter be postponed <br />for one week to allow time for suggestions by the Councilmen in a name for this <br />industrial road. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />~port of the Recreation and Park Commission Re: PropoSed Quar~rlt_9~__A_~rs~ Rid_~ <br /> Mr. Fales stated that the Recreation and Parks Commission has adopted Resolu- <br />tion R-69-2, dated January 23, 1969, recommending to the City Council that the <br />Council adopt a policy opposing the quarry application of Utah Construction Com- <br />pany for the Apperson property adjacent to the Sunol Regional Park. <br /> Mr. Fales recommended that the discussion of this matter be postponed pending <br />the receipt of reports from the Planning Commission, the Valley Planning Committee <br />and the Gravel Study Committee. <br /> Councilman Rega informed the Council that the Gravel Study Committee is not <br />planning to make a recommendation on this matter. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the <br />discussion on the proposed Quarry on Apperson Ridge be continued after all re- <br />ports and recommendations have been reviewed. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />~.eport of the Recreation and Park Commission Re: Fee Increase for Aquatic Program <br /> Mr. Fales reviewed Both his report on the fee increase for the Aquatic Pro- <br />gram and the report of the Recreation and Parks Commission. <br /> After some discussion on the programs being self-supporting, it was moved by <br />Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Rega that Resolution No. 69-24, in- <br />creasing the fees on the Swim-to-Live Program from $2.25 to $2.50 for 10 one-half <br />hour instruction periods, and also increasing Recreation Swim fees from 20¢ to <br />30¢ for youths~ 30¢ to 40¢ for Teens~ and from 50¢ to 60¢ for Adults, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAINED:Councilman Beratlis <br /> <br /> Councilman Beratlis stated that he was in favor of increasing the fees on <br />the S~im-to-Live Program from $2.25 to $3.00. <br /> <br /> <br />
