<br /> Mayor Gerton declared the above public hearing open.
<br /> Mr. Campbell displayed the maps showing the precise plan lines for Ray Street
<br /> and Peters Street. He explained the property acquisition and realignment proposed
<br /> for Ray Street. Mr. Fales reported that the plan lines for Bernal Avenue, Vine
<br /> Street, Del Valle Parkway, Santa Rita Road and Division Street had previously been
<br /> adopted by the City Council but had inadvertently been omitted in the original
<br /> adoption of Ordinance No. 520, and recommended that these plan lines be included
<br /> with the plan lines for Ray and Peters Streets for approval.
<br /> There being no public hearing protest, it was moved by Councilman Rega and
<br /> seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos that the Public Hearing be closed.

<br /> Road and Division Street, be introduced.

<br /> Application of the Planning Commission for an amendment to Art. 8,_"I" Industrial
<br /> District§.~ Section. 8.106, Uqde~round Utilities
<br /> Mayor Getton declared the public hearing on the above application, open.
<br /> Mr. Castro reviewed his report, dated December 17, 1968, and also the report
<br /> of the Director of Public Works, dated November 26, 1968. Both reports and the
<br /> Planning Commission's Resolution No. 835, recommended that the Zoning Ordinance
<br /> No. 520 be amended to require that Article 8, "I" Industrial Districts, Section
<br /> 8.106, Underground Utilities, apply to the "I-G" District as well as to the
<br /> "I-P" District.
<br /> Mr. John Stanley, PG&E representative, and Judge William Gale, representing
<br /> the Chamber of Commerce Industrial Committee, initiated discussion on this matter
<br /> and suggested that the public hearing be continued until a joint study session
<br /> with PG&E, the Industrial Committee, and the City staff could be held.
<br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis
<br /> that a study session on this matter be held with the City staff, PG&E, and the
<br /> Industrial Committee, and the public hearing be continued to 8:00 P.M., on February
<br /> 3, 1969.

<br /> Mr. Fales reported on the Study Session that was held on January 16, 1969.
<br /> Members of the Committee requested that the report be referred back to them
<br /> for further study and to consider the following items:
<br /> 1. A specific name for the organization to be created to deal with human rela-
<br /> tions problems and programs.
<br /> 2. A definition of areas of responsibility to be assigned to such an organization.
<br /> 3. A definition of the structure of such an organization, including the suggested
<br /> number of members, their terms of office, meetings, and other pertinent items.
<br /> The City Council indicated that the Committee should report back to the Council
<br /> within two months, or by March 20, 1969. It was understood, however, that if the
<br /> Committee required more time, such a request would be favorably considered by the
<br /> Council.
