The roll call vote waS.as follows: AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton NOES: None ABSENT: None It was moved by Councilman Sp~liotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that Ordinance No. 543, amending Ordinance No. 520, Zoning Ordinance, rezoning from the Industrial Park District to the Planned Unit Development District, that parcel of land described as a portion of Parcel 2, Block 1250, Assessor's Map Book 946, containing 60 acres, be introduced. SPECIAL REPORTS Report of the Industrial Committee of the Pleasanton Area Chamber of Commerce Re: Major Zone No. 7 flood control facilities in..industrial areas Judge William Gale, representing the I~dustrial Committee of the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce, stated his concern over the Zone No. 7 Board's lack of consideration given to the expansion of the basic flood contraol system.. Judge Gale emaphsized that industry is interested in land that has flood protection and urged the Councilmen to induce the Zone No. 7 Board of Directors to expend funds to improve the Arroyo Mecho and Tassajara Channels. Judge Gale advised the Council that the Industrial Committee is employing Mr. Karn and Mr. Fairfield to make a detailed report to be submitted to Zone 7 Board of Directors. Judge Gale stressed the importance in contacting Zone No. 7 immediately to determine what priority has been given the flood control improvements in the Arroyo Mocho-Tassajara Creeks between Hopyard and Santa Rita Roads. Judge Gale requested time on the January 20th agenda to report on this matter again. Report Re: Valley P~annin~ Committee Councilman Spiliotopoulos reported that the Valley Planning Committee met on January 9, 1969, and considered the following items and subsequent action. 1. ~roposed V.C.S.D. Tassa~ara Annexation The Valley Planning Committee voted to express disfavor with the V.C.S.D. action in initiating annexation proceedings for the Tassajara area. Mr. Fales was requested to prepare a report listing the reasons why VCSD should not proceed with the subject annexation, for presentation at the February meeting. After this report is approved in final form by the Committee, copies will be forwarded to other affected jurisdictions, the Local Agency Formation Commis- sion, Federal agencies and legislative representatives requesting their con- currence with the position of the Committee. 2. Policy.~e~ardin~ ~rohibition of Septic Tank Usame The City of Livermore Resolution No. 1-69, objecting to development of property with inadequate provision for sewerage and other public works in areas in proximity to the City of Livermore. This resolution was discussed and then referred by the Committee to each member agency for consideration, with a request for concurrence by the City of Livermore. This item will be -- listed on a future Pleasanton Council agenda for consideration. 3. Proposed Federal Military Cemetery Location Valley Community Services District Resolution No. 44-68 was discussed and will be listed on a future Pleasanton Council agenda for consideration. 4. ~.roposed Apperson Ridge Quarry. Operation The Committee continued this matter to the February meeting after an initial presentation and explanation of this proposal by Mr. Fraley, County Planning Director. 5.
