Diablo Blvd.~ Lafayette~ f~r qualified Investors, <br />I__nc.~ from an adverse decision of the Plannin~ Commission in denyin~ an appliCa- <br />tion to rezone from the A District to the C-N~ P~ and O Districts~ that property <br />known as Lot 1039~ Tract No. 2953~ or more commonly known as the southwest corner <br />of Hopyard Road and Las Positas Blvd.~ containing aDDroximately 5.2 acres <br /> Mayor Gerton declared the public hearing on the above matter, open. <br /> Mr. E. G. Craig presented a plot plan of the area which outlined the types of <br />businesses he proposed to locate on this property if his rezoning application were <br />approved. <br /> Mr. Castro reviewed his report to the City Council, dated January 13, 1969, in <br />which he indicated that institutional, medical and limited commercial would be the <br />most desirable type of zoning for the subject area. Based on the findings listed <br />in his report, Mr. Castro stated that he felt that further consideration should be <br />given the applicant's request. <br /> There being no majority public hearing protest, it was moved by Councilman <br />Rega and seconded by Councilman Reid that the public hearing be closed. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> In view of the fact that the Planning Commission has not reviewed the new <br />information provided by the Planning Department on January 13, 1969, it was moved <br />by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos that the application <br />of Mr. E. G. Craig be referred back to the Planning Commission for further review <br />and consideration of the C-N and combination C-N and O District aspects of the <br />application and to also consider the possibility of leaving some of the area in <br />question in a holding zone, either "S" or an "A" District, pending further study, <br />and, if after these considerations, the Planning Commission's position remains <br />unchanged, the Council is desirous of receiving a recommendation as to which land <br />use or uses would be appropriate and feasible for the subject property. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Application of Kaiser Sand and Gravel to rezone from the I-P (Industrial Park) <br />District to the P.U.D.
