MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> Pleasanton, California <br /> January 13, 1969 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO FlAG <br /> Mayor Getton called the Regular Meeting of the City Council to order and then <br /> led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br /> City Clerk Helen McCarty called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br />Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton were present. <br />Mr. Fales, City Manager, Mr. Edgar, Assistant City Manager, Mr. Hirst, City <br />Attorney, Mr. Campbell, Director of Public Works, and Mr. Castro, Director of <br />Planning, were present. <br /> <br />AGENDA AMENDMEI~I'S <br /> Councilman Rega requested that the approval of a resolution of intention re- <br />garding the abandonment of a portion of Black Avenue to D&V Builders, be removed <br />from the Consent Calendar in order to have Mr. Campbell to report further on this <br />item. <br /> Mr. Campbell stated that this portion of the Black Avenue right-of-way, in- <br />volving slightly more than 1/4 acre, became unnecessary as a result of the re- <br />alignment of Black Avenue at Hopyard Road. He also stated that D&V Builders <br />dedicated the right-of-way to the City for the realignment with the expectation <br />that the old right-of-way would be abandoned to them for use in their development <br />of apartments. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded by Councilman Reid that Resolu- <br />tion No. 69-3, a Resolution of Intention to abandon a portion of Black Avenue to <br />D&V Builders, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid requested that the report of the Planning Commission regarding <br />the report of the Alameda County Planning Department concerning "Land Use Control <br />for Freeway Interchange Areas - Routes 580 and 680, Livermore-Amador-Sunol Valley" <br />be removed from the Consent Calendar and be placed on the agenda for January 20, <br />1969, in order to allow Mr. Campbell time to prepare a summary report for Council <br />discussion. <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid also requested that the report of the Planning Commission re- <br />garding the request by Alameda County for City Council support regarding the <br />amendment of the State Master Plan for Scenic Highways to include Route Nos. 580 <br />and 680, be removed from the Consent Calendar and be discussed on January 20, 1969. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis <br />that the following items be approved: <br /> <br />1. The waiving of the reading of Ordinance No. 542, amending Ordinance Nos. 243 <br /> and 426, changing the terms of the Planning and Recreation and Park Commission- <br /> ers from three years to four years. <br /> <br />2, Introduction of Ordinance No. 542. <br /> <br />3. Adoption of Resolution No. 69-2, regarding the limitation of terms and rota- <br /> tion of chairmen of the Planning, and Recreation and Park Commissions. <br /> <br />4.Setting the public hearing on the abandonment of a portion of Black Avenue <br /> to D&V Builders for February 3, 1969, at 8:00 P.M. <br /> <br />5. Accepting the report of the Planning Commission regarding the application of <br /> the Planning Commission for an amendment to Article 17, Section 17.105a of <br /> Ordinance No. 520 and setting the public hearing on this matter for February <br /> 3, 1969, at 8:00 P.M. <br /> <br /> <br />
