Hartera for th.e .I.nforma.~ign of ~he CoUnCil <br /> Mr. Fales informed the City Council that he had forwarded copies of a letter <br /> to them from the Pacific Gas and Electric Company, dated December 30, 1968, ad- <br /> vising all interested that they have filed an application with the Public Utilities <br /> Commission for a rate increase for gas service. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> Report Re: Feasibility of Limit~..Te..rms 0f..appointed Boards and Commissions <br /> Mr. Hirst reviewed his report in which he determined that the City Council can <br /> limit the terms of both the Planning Commissioners and the Recreation and Parks <br /> Commissioners. Mr. Hirst indicated that the Council can adopt a Resolution of <br /> Intent to limit the terms of the Housing Authority Commissioners. <br /> After considerable discussion regarding the length of a term and the number <br /> of terms a commissioner can serve, and an annual rotation of the Chairmen of the <br /> Commissions, Mr. Hirst was instructed to draft an ordinance and a resolution <br /> detailing these specific items, for presentation to the Council. <br /> <br /> COMMUNICATIONS <br /> From Honorable D. Chancellor,~_Mayor, City of Vacavill~.R~el_Iuv~t__i~R ~e, Ya__c~m <br /> rills Civic Center Dedication <br /> Mr. Fales read the letter of invitation to the Councilmen and informed them <br /> that his secretary would contact them regarding the attendance at this function. <br /> <br /> HATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Councilman Rega recommended that the City Council request the Alameda County <br /> Board of Supervisors to hold the Public Hearing on Land Use Control on certain <br /> Freeway Interchanges xalich involve the "Scenic Highway System" open until such <br /> time as the City Planning Commission and the Recreation and Parks Commission can <br /> report and recommend what type of land use and development is appropriate for the <br /> State 680 and 580 Interchange in Pleasanton. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Reid that <br /> the City Council request the Alameda County Board of Supervisors to hold their <br /> Public Hearing on Land Use Control around certain freeway interchanges over for <br /> aE least two weeks in order to allow the City Councilmen time to study this matter. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen BetaElls, Rega, P. eid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Gerton requested that a Joint Study Session with the County Planning <br /> Commission and the Livermore Planning Commission be scheduled in order to discuss <br /> this land use control at Freeway Interchanges. <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid asked what the status was on the extension of Adams Court. <br /> Mr. Hirst stated that he was trying to consummate an acquisition of property as <br /> he did not get an immediate possession of properties for this extension. Mr. <br /> Hirst stated that he would prepare a detailed report on this matter for the Council. <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid also reported that the residents near Amador Court had com- <br /> plained of having problems with their water pressure. Mr. Campbell explained the <br /> high and low pressure water systems on the Vineyard Avenue main. <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid initiated discussion regarding the scheduling of study <br /> session on the master list of items requiring Council study. Mr. Fales stated <br /> that he would present an up-dated list of study items to the Council for schedul- <br /> ing study sessions. <br /> <br /> <br />
