167 <br /> <br /> MINUTES <br /> of <br /> THE MEETING <br /> of <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> Pleasanton, California <br /> January 6, 1969 <br /> <br /> CALL TO ORDER - PLEDGE TO FlAG <br /> Mayor Gerton callad the Adjourned Regular Meeting of the City Council to order <br /> at 8:00 P.M., and then led the pledge of allegiance to the flag. <br /> <br /> ROLL CALL <br /> City Clerk Helen McCarty called the roll which is recorded as follows: <br /> Councilmen Betailia, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton were present. <br /> Mr. Fales, City Manager, Mr. Edgar, Assistant City Manager, Mr. Hirst, City <br /> Attorney, and Mr. Campbell, Director of Public ~rks, were present. Mr. Castro, <br /> Director of Planning, was absent. <br /> <br /> AGENDAAMENDMENTS <br /> There were no amendments to the agenda. <br /> <br /> CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Beratlis <br /> that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar, be approved. <br /> <br />1. Waiving the reading of the readoption of Ordinance No. 539, rezoning a parcel <br /> containing approximately 1~ acres located on the south side of Stanley Boule- <br /> vard, east of the First Street Bridge, from the '~" District to the "C-S" <br /> District. <br /> <br /> 2. Adoption of Ordinance No. 539. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> There were no public hearings scheduled for this meeting. <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />Appeal of Dr. D. L. Westerhou~...3123.Mo~pelier Court. from an adverse decision of <br />the Board of. Adjustment in granting a Variance to Mr. L. R. Ander~gn~ 3177 Mont- <br />pellet Cour~.~ for [~e purpose of extending. the height of a common fence beypnd the <br />limit specified in Ord. No. 520 <br /> Mr. Fales stated that the City Council had held and closed the public hearing <br />on this appeal on December 2, 1968, and had continued this matter for a decision <br />until this date in order to allow the parties to reach an amicable solution to <br />the problem. Mr. Fales also stated that the City Council had informed the parties <br />that, in the event such a solution were possible, a joint letter signed by each <br />person should be forwarded to the Council. Mr. Fales read a letter signed by both <br />Dr. D. L. Westerhout and Mr. L. R. Anderson, dated December 30, 1968, stating that <br />their problem has been solved. Mr. Fales reported that a telephone call to Dr. <br />Westerhout confirmed the fact that this letter constituted a withdrawal of his <br />appeal. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> There were no Special Reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND CO~,SS!O~S <br /> There were no reports from Boards or Commissions presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />BEpoR~s OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Draft. of.Age~da; Join~.C~ty Council-Pleasanton Housir~Authority Study Session <br /> Mr. Fales reviewed the draft of an agenda for the Joint City Council-Pleasanton <br />Housing Authority Study Session. <br /> The Councilmen approved the agenda and asked Mr. Fales to schedule a Joint <br />Study Session. <br /> <br /> <br />
