<br />335 <br /> <br />Mr. Fales stated that the Director of Planning recommended that because this <br />matter is so closely related to the application of the Planning Commission for an <br />amendment to Section 2.112 of the Zoning Ordinance regarding front yard setbacks <br />which was referred back to the Commission at the Council meeting of October 20th, <br />for additional language regarding front yard screening, that the matter of Section <br />2.109 also be referred back to the Commission and be heard before the Council at <br />the same time at a later date. <br />There being no public protest. it was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded <br />by Councilman Rega that the Public Hearing be closed. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmen Reid and Spiliotopoulos <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Rega that the <br />application of the Planning Commission for an amendment to section 2.109, Ordinance <br />No. 520, be referred back to the Planning Commission to be considered with their <br />application regarding Section 2.112, Ordinance No. 520, in order that the recommen- <br />dations of the Planning Commission regarding both these Sections can be forwarded <br />to the City Council simultaneously. <br />1he roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmen Reid and Spiliotopoulos <br /> <br />..- <br />OC <br />'-;:) <br />W <br />U <br /> <br />~TTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />Removal of Debris from the Arroyo del Valle <br />Mr. Richard Bidstrup, 2571 Willowren Way, reported that some of the slabs of <br />concrete that are found on the banks of the Arroyo del Valle have been purposely <br />placed there by the property owners to preserve the banks from erosion. He stated <br />that he had contacted members of the Fish and Game Office in Sacramento and they <br />have been working on techniques to prevent levee erosion, and some of these tech- <br />niques have been successful. He also stated that this department is going to <br />forward this information to him in order that the property owners along the creek <br />can be instructed in these methods in order to preserve their creek property. <br />Mr. Bidstrup also stated that he would like to contact the officials who control <br />the water flow in the creek. Discussion ensued regarding establishing a committee <br />to continue this project. Mayor Gerton asked both Mr. Bidstrup and Jeannie Haynes. <br />People Limited, to draw up the charges for a committee they felt were necessary to <br />complete this project. <br />Miss Jeannie Haynes asked Mayor Gerton if the City would consider placing four <br />garbage cans on each end of the Main Street Bridge to help alleviate the litter in <br />this area. Mayor Gerton asked Miss Haynes to submit this request in writing to Mr. <br />Fales so that it can be considered at the same time other problems are discussed. <br />Mr. Fales explained the storm drainage system and how it drains into the creek <br />or other channels in the area. <br />Melissa Barlow thanked Mr. Edgar for his help in arranging for the disposal of <br />the debris that was removed from the Arroyo del Valle. <br />Mr. Paul Loretz congratulated the people for their interest and work in <br />this matter. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br />There were no Special Reports scheduled for this meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Report of the Housin~ Authority Re: Section 23. U. S. Housin~ Act of 1937 <br />Mr. Dean Wise, Commissioner of the Housing Authority, stated that he will be <br />available prior to the Study Session, to answer any questions the Councilmen might <br />have regarding this report. <br />Mayor Gerton asked Mr. Fales to schedule a Study Session with the Housi.ng <br />Authority regarding this report. <br /> <br />mJ2.Rl'S OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Report Re: Uniform Animal Control Ordinance <br />Mr. Fales reviewed the report regarding this ordinance. dated October 31. 1969, <br />and strongly recommended adoption of the proposed ordinance. <br />After some discussion, it was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded by Council- <br />man Beratlis that Ordinance No. 585, Regulating the Keeping, Licensing and Dis- <br />position of Animals within the City of Pleasanton. be introduced. <br /> <br />2. <br />
