Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Application of the Planning Commission for an amendment to Sec. 2.112 of Ord. No. <br />520 regarding front yard setback for storage of vehicles other than automobiles <br />Mayor Gerton declared the public hearing open. <br />Mr. Hirst reviewed the proposed ordinance and explained the description of a <br />front yard, as stated in Ordinance No. 520. <br />Discussion ensued regarding the possibility of the parking of one of the subject <br />type vehicles in front yards on lots where houses were built to the rear of the lot <br />or where houses were built in an "I}' shape with a portion of the front of the house <br />located well beyond the required 23 foot setback which would allow ample room to <br />park the subject vehciles in front. Mr. Castro stated that in accordance with the <br />description of "front yards" in the Zoning Ordinance, parking would be allowed in <br />situations listed above. as long as the required 23 feet setback was observed. <br />Discussion ensued regarding the screening in cases such as these. <br />It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the <br />public hearing be closed. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis. Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENl' : None <br /> <br />After continued discussion, it was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by <br />Councilman Beratlis that the application of the Planning Commission for an amend- <br />ment to Section 2.112, Ordinance No. 520 regarding use of front yard setbacks of <br />storage of vehicles other than automobiles be referred back to the Planning Com- <br />mission for the inclusion of language in the subject section which would require <br />adequate screening of vehicles other than autos which are stored in front of a <br />residence but beyond the required front yard setback. <br /> <br />2. <br />
