REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER ~eyiew of Bids; Award of Contract Re: One (I) Truck.Mounted Hi-Velocity Pipe CleaninK Machine Mr. Edgar reviewed his report which recommended that the City Council award the bid to Southwest Flexible Company, Culver City, the low bidder on the hi-velocity pipe cleaning machine, for $14,991.51. It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that Resolu- tion No. 69-236, awarding the contract to Southwest Flexible Company for the mounted hi-velocity pipe cleaning machine for $14,991.51, be adopted. Crossing at Abbie Street Mr. Campbell reviewed his report, dated October 1, 1969, and also the corres- pondence between him and the Southern Pacific Company dated in March and April, 1969. Mr. Campbell recommended that the proposed schedule of priorities, moving the Abbie Street Railroad Crossing Protection up to the current Fiscal Year, be approved. He stated his recommendation is based on a new traffic count and the fact that the Southern Pacific Company has expressed their interest in eliminating this crossing. Mr. Hirst stated that Abbie Street cannot be closed. It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the report of the Director of Public Works, dated October 1, 1969, and the Schedule for Installation of Automatic Crossing protection, dated September, 1969. be approved. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos NOES: None ABSENT: Mayor Gerton Ma~ters for the Information of the Council Mr. Edgar advised the Council that the City Attorney's letter regarding a detachment of certain property from V.C.S.D. has been forwarded to the Local Agency Formation Commission. Mr. Edgar stated that he has forwarded a copy of a letter from the Director of Public Works to the Pleasanton Valley Homeowners Association regarding the collec- tion of trash in certain areas, to the Council. Mr. Edgar stated that the Minutes of the August 15, 1969, Sand and Gravel Committee meeting have been forwarded to the Council. Mr. Edgar reported that a copy of the Fire Service Contract between the Pleasanton Housing Authority and V.C.S.D. for fire service within Komandorski Village. has been forwarded to the Council.
