President. Highland Oaks Improvement Assn., Re: Installatio~ of stop sign Mr. Estorga explained the need for a stop sign at the intersection of Highland Oaks Drive and Driftwood way. Mr. Campbell contended that a "Yield" sign would better serve this purpose as the crosswalk stripping was already done. After some discussion, it was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Council- man Rega that the Public Works Department install a stop sign at the intersection of Highland Oaks Drive and Driftwood Way. Bidstrip. 2571 Willowren Wav~easanton, Re: Cable TV Mr. Edgar was instructed to follow up on Mrs. Bidstrip's complaint regarding the poor cable television service she is receiving. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS Councilman Rega asked Mr. Edgar to find out from the Police Department why the Southern Pacific train was stopped for 20 minutes on September 25, 1969, holding up traffic as it did so. Councilman Reid asked Mr. Hirst to find out why the Cal Vet Loans are being held back. Mr. Hirst stated he would get the information and report at the next Council meeting. Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos read a letter from Miss Melissa Worswick. 4043 Nevis Street, complaining about the lack of a record store in pleasanton. He asked the staff to reply to this letter and state that there were three places in pleasanton where records could be purchased. Councilman Beratlis requested an opinion from Mr. Hirst regarding AB 325 re- lating to the exposure of public assets of elected officials. Mr. Hirst replied that he would supply this information in about a month. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC Mrs. Birdie Meier requested that a progress report be made on both the Grey- hound Bus Depot problem and the VCEOO Meeting. Mrs. Meier was advised that this report will be made next week. Mrs, Jackson presented a petition against the truck route being established on Santa Rita Road. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business at 10:20 P.M., it was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the meeting be adjourned to meet again in Regular Session at 8:00 P.M., on October 13. 1969.
