Highland Oaks Improvement Assn., Re: Installatio~ of <br />stop sign <br />Mr. Estorga explained the need for a stop sign at the intersection of Highland <br />Oaks Drive and Driftwood way. <br />Mr. Campbell contended that a "Yield" sign would better serve this purpose as <br />the crosswalk stripping was already done. <br />After some discussion, it was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Council- <br />man Rega that the Public Works Department install a stop sign at the intersection <br />of Highland Oaks Drive and Driftwood Way. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Gerton <br /> <br />From Ted C. Fairfield, MacKay & Som~Re: Field Trip <br />Mr. Edgar stated that he would have Mrs. George contact the Councilmen regard"" <br />ing reservations for this field trip. <br /> <br />From Mrs. R. Bidstrip. 2571 Willowren Wav~easanton, Re: Cable TV <br />Mr. Edgar was instructed to follow up on Mrs. Bidstrip's complaint regarding <br />the poor cable television service she is receiving. <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />Councilman Rega asked Mr. Edgar to find out from the Police Department why the <br />Southern Pacific train was stopped for 20 minutes on September 25, 1969, holding <br />up traffic as it did so. <br /> <br />Councilman Reid asked Mr. Hirst to find out why the Cal Vet Loans are being <br />held back. Mr. Hirst stated he would get the information and report at the next <br />Council meeting. <br /> <br />Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos read a letter from Miss Melissa Worswick. 4043 Nevis <br />Street, complaining about the lack of a record store in pleasanton. He asked the <br />staff to reply to this letter and state that there were three places in pleasanton <br />where records could be purchased. <br /> <br />Councilman Beratlis requested an opinion from Mr. Hirst regarding AB 325 re- <br />lating to the exposure of public assets of elected officials. Mr. Hirst replied <br />that he would supply this information in about a month. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br />Mrs. Birdie Meier requested that a progress report be made on both the Grey- <br />hound Bus Depot problem and the VCEOO Meeting. Mrs. Meier was advised that this <br />report will be made next week. <br /> <br />Mrs, Jackson presented a petition against the truck route being established <br />on Santa Rita Road. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business at 10:20 P.M., it was moved by Councilman Rega <br />and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the meeting be adjourned to meet again <br />in Regular Session at 8:00 P.M., on October 13. 1969. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega.
