VALLEY TRAILS <br />Councilman Reid initiated the discussion on this matter by stating that the <br />approv()d final subdivision map for Unit 1, Valley Trails. provided for sidewa.lks <br />ou only one side of the street and citizens who purchased homes with the under- <br />standing that there would be no sidewalks in front of their ~omes, are being <br />confronted with the problem that sidewalks are now going to be constructed. <br />Mrs. Sargess of Olympic Court, South, stated she purposely bought her home <br />on the side of the street without sidewalks and has purchased all materials for <br />landscaping the front yard to the curb. She also stated that a vote was taken <br />by the homeowners without sidewalks and over 2/3 of these homeowners do not want <br />sirlewalks as most of them have sprinkler systems and landscaping already com- <br />pleted. <br />Mr. Campbell stated that Unit 1. of Valley Trails was approved with the condi. <br />tion th~t if the omitting of sidewalks on one side of the street was unsatisfactc~~ <br />the d~veloper was to install the sidewalk. Mr. Canlpbell reported that the d~ve. <br />loper has a meeting tomorrow to discuss this matter with the Planning Dep;:1.I:c:,::ei.~t <br />as it is not yet concluded.
