<br />3^2:1 <br /> <br />!lli.fQ.RTS OF B~RDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />~esolution of the Recreation and Park Commission Re: Junior Football <br />Mr. Edgar reviewed the matter of the City co-sponsored program with the <br />Pleasanton Junior Football League. <br />Mr. Edgar reviewed the Recreation and Park Commission Resolution No. R-65-15, <br />which recommended to the City Council that the pleasanton Junior Football League <br />be granted co-sponsor status and that a subsidy of $800.00 be incorporated into <br />the Boys Sports Section of the Recreation Department's 1969-70 Budget, to subsi- <br />dize this League in its initial year of operation. <br />The Council was assured by Mr. Edgar that $800.00 has been reserved for this <br />purpose. Councilmen Rega and Spiliotopoulos stated that this program was an <br />exceptionally successful one. <br />It was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos that <br />Resolution No. 69-259, appropriating $800.00 for this year only, to the Recreation <br />Budget to subsidize the Pleasanton Junion Football League, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br />00 <br />-=> <br />U <br />U <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />M~tters for the Information of the Counsil <br />Mr. Edgar called the Council's attention to the letter he wrote on behalf of <br />the City Council, which expressed appreciation to Jeannie Haynes of People Limited, <br />for the work she and her organization has done in cleaning up the Arroyo del Valle <br />Creek the last two weekends. <br /> <br />Mr. Edgar stated that he had received a letter from the Public Utilities Com- <br />mission which stated that they are in concurrance with the report of Mr. Alan <br />Campbell regarding the changing the priority of railroad crossing signalizations <br />in the City of Pleasanton, and have notified Southern Pacific Company of this <br />revision. <br /> <br />l\EPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />There were no reports of the City Attorney presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />fQ~ICATIONS <br />from Mr. R. W. Bidstrup, P. O. Bo~ 870, Pleasanton. Re: Removal of debris from <br />Del Valle Creek <br />Mr. Edgar stated that Mr. Bidstrup requested time at this meeting to discuss <br />the removal of debris in the Arroyo del Valle Creek and to also show some slides <br />of this situation. <br /> <br />Mayor Gerton declared a recess at 8:50 P.M., in order to allow Mr. Bidstrup <br />time to set up the slide equipment. <br /> <br />Mayor Gerton reconvened the meeting at 8:55 P.M. <br /> <br />Mr. Bidstrup showed approximately a dozen slides showing the debris in the <br />Creek from the Main Street Bridge to the First Street Bridge. <br />Discussion regarding this matter ensued. <br />Mr. Bidstrup stated that he would like to be appointed to a committee that <br />should be formed to enforce the Anti-Litter Ordinance. Mr. Bidstrup also thanked <br />Miss Haynes and the people of People Limited for all the work they have done in <br />the Creek. <br />Mr. Gerton stated that this matter will be placed on the City Council agenda <br />for next week regarding the possibility of an Anti-Litter Committee and further <br />discussion of cleanicg the Arroyo del Valle Creek. Mayor Gerton also expressed <br />his appreciation to Mr. Bidstrup and the members of People Limited for their <br />i~terest and work done in this project. <br />Mr. Campbell explained that the Arroyo del Valle will have water in it most of <br />the year and felt that this discussion is very timely. <br />Councilman Reid suggested that the members of the Recreation and Park Commis- <br />sion be present at the next meeting to hear and discuss this matter. <br /> <br />K.~.~:-Mrs. Nancy Woodard, 4164 Suffolk Way, Pleasanton, Re: Tennis Courts in Fair.. <br />L0E'gs p~ <br /> <br />from Mr. T.
