3^2:1 !lli.fQ.RTS OF B~RDS AND COMMISSIONS ~esolution of the Recreation and Park Commission Re: Junior Football Mr. Edgar reviewed the matter of the City co-sponsored program with the Pleasanton Junior Football League. Mr. Edgar reviewed the Recreation and Park Commission Resolution No. R-65-15, which recommended to the City Council that the pleasanton Junior Football League be granted co-sponsor status and that a subsidy of $800.00 be incorporated into the Boys Sports Section of the Recreation Department's 1969-70 Budget, to subsi- dize this League in its initial year of operation. The Council was assured by Mr. Edgar that $800.00 has been reserved for this purpose. Councilmen Rega and Spiliotopoulos stated that this program was an exceptionally successful one. It was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos that Resolution No. 69-259, appropriating $800.00 for this year only, to the Recreation Budget to subsidize the Pleasanton Junion Football League, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton NOES: None ABSENT: None ~ ~ 00 -=> U U REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER M~tters for the Information of the Counsil Mr. Edgar called the Council's attention to the letter he wrote on behalf of the City Council, which expressed appreciation to Jeannie Haynes of People Limited, for the work she and her organization has done in cleaning up the Arroyo del Valle Creek the last two weekends. Mr. Edgar stated that he had received a letter from the Public Utilities Com- mission which stated that they are in concurrance with the report of Mr. Alan Campbell regarding the changing the priority of railroad crossing signalizations in the City of Pleasanton, and have notified Southern Pacific Company of this revision. l\EPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY There were no reports of the City Attorney presented at this meeting. fQ~ICATIONS from Mr. R. W. Bidstrup, P. O. Bo~ 870, Pleasanton. Re: Removal of debris from Del Valle Creek Mr. Edgar stated that Mr. Bidstrup requested time at this meeting to discuss the removal of debris in the Arroyo del Valle Creek and to also show some slides of this situation. Mayor Gerton declared a recess at 8:50 P.M., in order to allow Mr. Bidstrup time to set up the slide equipment. Mayor Gerton reconvened the meeting at 8:55 P.M. Mr. Bidstrup showed approximately a dozen slides showing the debris in the Creek from the Main Street Bridge to the First Street Bridge. Discussion regarding this matter ensued. Mr. Bidstrup stated that he would like to be appointed to a committee that should be formed to enforce the Anti-Litter Ordinance. Mr. Bidstrup also thanked Miss Haynes and the people of People Limited for all the work they have done in the Creek. Mr. Gerton stated that this matter will be placed on the City Council agenda for next week regarding the possibility of an Anti-Litter Committee and further discussion of cleanicg the Arroyo del Valle Creek. Mayor Gerton also expressed his appreciation to Mr. Bidstrup and the members of People Limited for their i~terest and work done in this project. Mr. Campbell explained that the Arroyo del Valle will have water in it most of the year and felt that this discussion is very timely. Councilman Reid suggested that the members of the Recreation and Park Commis- sion be present at the next meeting to hear and discuss this matter.
