<br />21'3 <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded by Councilman Reid that Ordinance <br />No. 57', annexing approximately 35 acres generally known as the Dandini property <br />located on the south side of Stanley Blvd.. and designated as Annexation No. 60, <br />be introduced. <br />!he roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENI: Mayor Gerton <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br />00 <br />~ <br />U <br />U <br /> <br />~TTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />Adoption of an ordinance which would prohibit the operation of certain vehicles ~~ <br />excess of three (3) tons upon certain of the streets within the City of Plea~~~~ <br />and establish truck routes over certain other streets within the City of Plea.llan!:i)n <br />over and upon which vehicles in excess of three tons may travel <br />Councilman Beratlis reported that he had been in contact with Mr. James Collins, <br />a traffic engineer of the State Division of Highways, who told him that there is <br />nothing to prevent Pleasanton from erecting a sign, providing the City obtains <br />permission from the State, on Interstate 580, warning trucks that they may not <br />turn off at Hopyard Road. <br />Mr. Fales stated that if trucks were prohibited on Hopyard Road, it would in- <br />crease the truck traffic on Santa Rita Road and this could result in protests <br />from residents along Santa Rita Road. <br />Mr. Fales requested continuance on this matter in order to arrange for a <br />written agreement with the State Division of Highways, concerning the truck route <br />sign on Highway 580. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br />There were no special reports 6cheduled for this meeting. <br /> <br />~RTS OF BOA.RDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />There were no reports from Boards and Commissions. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />There were no reports from the City Manager. <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br />There were no matters for the information of the Council. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />There were no reports of the City Attorney. <br /> <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />From Mr. R. E. LaDuke, Greyhound Bus Lines Re: Prospective Greyhound Agents in <br />Pleasanton <br />Mr. Fales reviewed the letter from Mr. LaDuke which stated that he was unable <br />to secure an acceptable Greyhound Agent in Pleasanton. Mr. Fales stated that he <br />would refer this letter to the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce. <br /> <br />From Mr. William Newton, City Clerk, City of Union City. Re: Seventh Step Founda- <br />tion <br />Mr. Fales stated this matter should be referred to a Study Session. <br /> <br />From Birdie Meier, VCEOO, Re: Appointment of Elected Official to VCEOO Board <br />Mrs. Meier was advised that the Council will wait until after the Joint Meeting <br />with Livermore is held before any action is taken on this matter. <br /> <br />From Mr. & Mrs. David S. Myers, 835 Lucille St., Livermore, Re: Movie on Smog <br />Mr. Fales stated that Mr. & Mrs. Myers' complaint of not advising the audience <br />early in the meeting that the movie on smog would not be shown was legitimate and <br />he would apologize to them in writing for this oversite. <br /> <br />,tr~TTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />Councilman Rega stated that he had been contacted by a private citizen who <br />suggested that Abbie Street from First Street to Main Street be closed to through <br />~raffic until railroad crossing guards or signals could be installed. <br />Mr. Campbell and Mr. Hirst stated that they will study this matter and report <br />to the Council when their study was complete. <br /> <br />4. <br />
