Corley and Schwab both stated that they had the agressive support of <br />the neighbors in establishing an office in the subject area. The applicants <br />stated that the lot was large enough to provide off-street parking for their <br />facility and also that it was a corner lot with a number of large trees on it <br />for screening purposes. <br />Councilman Reid suggested that an office-space survey be made prior to <br />granting approval of 'this request. <br />Discussion ensued regarding the compatibility of high density and offices <br />in the same area. <br />It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Rega that Ordinance <br />No. 575. amending Ordinance No. 520, rezoning from the R-1-6500, Single Family <br />Residential District, to the "0". Office District, that property known as 1056 <br />Division Street. be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Rega, Reid and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Gerton <br />ABSTAIN: Councilman Beratlis <br /> <br />Application of Mr. Melvin Whalin for an amendment to Ord. No. 520 rezoning those <br />properties known as 1162 and 1166 Division Street from the R-1-6500 (Single Familv <br />Residential) District to the RM-1500 (Multiple Family) District <br />Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos declared the public hearing open. <br />There being no public protest. it was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by <br />Councilman Beratlis that the public hearing be closed. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Gerton <br /> <br />Mr. Castro stated the Planning Commission unanimously approved this request. <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Rega that Ordinance <br />No. 576, amending Ordinance No. 520, rezoning from the R-1-6500 District to the <br />RM-1500 Di.strict those properties known as 1162 and 1166 Division Street, be in- <br />troduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid and Vice-Mayor Spiliotopoulos <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Gerton <br /> <br />Annexation No. 60.
