No. 520, relatinR <br />to Planned Unit Development <br /> <br />The above items were explained by Mr. Hirst. After some discussion by the <br />Council, it was decided to continue the public hearing regarding Section 2.102, <br />in order to allow the staff time to research several questions that Councilman <br />Rega raised regarding corner lots. Countilman Reid requested that the public <br />hearing relating to PUD development also be held over for further study. The <br />other members of the Council concurred. <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br />00 <br />I-:) <br />U <br />U <br /> <br />Application of the PlanninR Commission to amend Art. 20, Ord. No. 520, addinR <br />Sect. 20.101 relatinR to temporary uses <br />Mr. Hirst explained this proposed amendment to Article 20, Ordinanee No. 520 <br />relating to temporary uses. <br />Mayor Gerton declared the Public Hearing on this matter, open. <br />There being no public protest, it was moved by Councilman Rega and seconded <br />by Councilman Reid that the public hearing be closed. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSE NT: None <br /> <br />It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that <br />Ordinance No. 569, amending Article No. 20, Ordinance No. 520, adding Section <br />20.101, relating to temporary uses, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />Further consideration of the Re1?ort of the Ci ty: ..fQ~ncg_CH.i.~e..Il_~~(bct._spt::Y_C_Ql!ll1liJ:_te.s <br />on Human Relations <br />Mr. Amis read a letter from the Human Relations Committee requesting the City <br />Council to establish a "Community Concerns Committee". <br />Councilman Spiliotopou1os stated his reasons for being opposed to establishing <br />this Committee. Councilman Rega concurred with Councilman Spiliotopoulos. <br />Councilman Reid stated that he felt that there were definite areas of concern <br />in Pleasanton. <br />Several members of the Advisory Committee on Human Relations emphasized the <br />need for their proposed committee. <br />After considerable discussion on this matter, the City staff was instructed <br />to schedule an additional study session with the Human Relations Committee and <br />the City Council for August 26, 1969, in order to discuss the matter in further <br />detail. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br />Sup~lemental report of Air Pollution Control Study Committee <br />John Long reported on the smog condition in the Amador Livermore Valley. <br />After Mr. Long summarized the seriousness of this condition and stated that there <br />was no apparent solution, he suggested that the Cities of Pleasanton and Livermore <br />and VCSD arrange a joint study session to discuss this and try to find a way to <br />control this Air Pollution in the Valley. The staff was instructed to arrange such <br />a meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Report of the Recreation and Park Commission Re: Installation of Tennis Court <br />foundation, Fairlands (T) Park <br />Mr. Edgar stated that the City has received a petition signed by 160 residents <br />of Fairlands Subdivision requesting that the Council permit Mr. Oakes, the deve- <br />loper, to construct the base rock foundation of the tennis courts which have been <br />approved in the General Plan for this Park area, instead of the turf, Which had <br />been the agreement between the Council and Mr. Oakes. <br /> <br />2. <br />
