REPORTS OF THE CITY FANAGER Further report of the Director of Public Works Re: Division Street Traffic, Main Street to Railroad Avenue Mr. Fales reviewed the reports of the Director of Public Works, dated June 12th and July 22, 1969, in which the latter report stated that Mr. Campbell had sent a copy of his original report to the affected property owners and tenants. Mr. Fales explained the proposed loading zones which Mr. Campbell had recommend- ed and reported that the property owners had no objections to this arrangement. Mr. Fales reported that the Fire Chief requested that the loading zones be off-set rather than be exactly opposite each other. It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Rega that Resolution No. 69-179, accepting the reports of the Director of Public Works, dated June 12th, and July 22nd, 1969, regarding Division Street Traffic from Main Street to Railroad Avenue, be adopted. Re:.Construction of Tennis Courts~ Pleasanton Elementary School Mr. Fales explained that eight sets of plans and specifications for the con- struction of tennis courts had been sent out to various contractors but none had been returned for the bid opening at 2:00 P.M. today. Mr. Fales stated that the Director of Public Works has recommended that the plans and specifications be again reviewed and discussed with the consultant to determine if changes are necessary and then readvertize for bids in the near future. - It was moved by CounCilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos that the staff be authorized to readvertize for bids for the construction of tennis courts. REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY Presentation of Amici Curiae Brief Re: Park Dedication Ordinance Mr. Hlrst stated that this report was for the information of the Council. R~port. Re:.P~'.C. Proposed Order re~4~n_RUDfi3r_Rrou~ Utilities Mr. Hirst explained the P.U.C. order and suggested that this matter be con- tinued after the League of California Cities has taken a position on this matter. After some discussion, Mr. Fales was asked to re-schedule this subject on the agenda for August 18, 1969. Transfer of Ownership; Card Room Permit Mr. Hirst reported that he had received the first request under the new ordi- nance to transfer a card room permit. Mr. Hirst stated that Mr. Shaw, owner of the Pastime Pool, was requesting a transfer of permit to Mr. Stephen Sparks. Mr. Hirst reported that the Police Department has made the necessary investigation and has recommended that this transfer be approved. Mr. Fales reported that all fees have been paid for this permit. It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Rega that Xesolution No. 69-180, authorizing the transfer of the permit from Mr. Shaw, owner of the Pastime Pool, to Mr. Sparks, be authorized.
