REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> Other than those reports associated with the items on the Consent Calendar, <br /> there were no reports of Boards and Commissions. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE CITY FANAGER <br /> Further report of the Director of Public Works Re: Division Street Traffic, Main <br /> Street to Railroad Avenue <br /> Mr. Fales reviewed the reports of the Director of Public Works, dated June 12th <br /> and July 22, 1969, in which the latter report stated that Mr. Campbell had sent a <br /> copy of his original report to the affected property owners and tenants. <br /> Mr. Fales explained the proposed loading zones which Mr. Campbell had recommend- <br /> ed and reported that the property owners had no objections to this arrangement. <br /> Mr. Fales reported that the Fire Chief requested that the loading zones be <br /> off-set rather than be exactly opposite each other. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Rega that <br /> Resolution No. 69-179, accepting the reports of the Director of Public Works, dated <br /> June 12th, and July 22nd, 1969, regarding Division Street Traffic from Main Street <br /> to Railroad Avenue, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br />~-4 AYES: Councilmen Bernills, Rega, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />OO NOES: None <br />~'D ABSENT: Councilman Reid <br /> <br /> ~.~ Review of Bids~ Award 9f Contract. Re:.Construction of Tennis Courts~ Pleasanton <br /> Elementary School <br /> Mr. Fales explained that eight sets of plans and specifications for the con- <br /> struction of tennis courts had been sent out to various contractors but none had <br /> been returned for the bid opening at 2:00 P.M. today. Mr. Fales stated that the <br /> Director of Public Works has recommended that the plans and specifications be <br /> again reviewed and discussed with the consultant to determine if changes are <br /> necessary and then readvertize for bids in the near future. <br /> - It was moved by CounCilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos <br /> that the staff be authorized to readvertize for bids for the construction of <br /> tennis courts. <br /> The roll call vote was ~S f0~lows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Reid <br /> <br /> Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> There were no matters for the information of the Council presented at this <br /> meeting. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> Presentation of Amici Curiae Brief Re: Park Dedication Ordinance <br /> Mr. Hlrst stated that this report was for the information of the Council. <br /> <br /> R~port. Re:.P~'.C. Proposed Order re~4~n_RUDfi3r_Rrou~ Utilities <br /> Mr. Hirst explained the P.U.C. order and suggested that this matter be con- <br /> tinued after the League of California Cities has taken a position on this matter. <br /> After some discussion, Mr. Fales was asked to re-schedule this subject on the <br /> agenda for August 18, 1969. <br /> <br /> Transfer of Ownership; Card Room Permit <br /> Mr. Hirst reported that he had received the first request under the new ordi- <br /> nance to transfer a card room permit. Mr. Hirst stated that Mr. Shaw, owner of <br /> the Pastime Pool, was requesting a transfer of permit to Mr. Stephen Sparks. Mr. <br /> Hirst reported that the Police Department has made the necessary investigation and <br /> has recommended that this transfer be approved. Mr. Fales reported that all fees <br /> have been paid for this permit. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Rega that <br /> Xesolution No. 69-180, authorizing the transfer of the permit from Mr. Shaw, owner <br /> of the Pastime Pool, to Mr. Sparks, be authorized. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES; Councilmen Berat]is, Rega, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Reid <br /> <br /> <br />
