~ro Castro Reviewed the report of the Plannin~ Commission, dated <br /> May 15~ 1970, <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mr. E. G. Craig, architect, presented drawings of the P.U.D~ and <br /> explained the plans for landscapin~ and parking. ~r. Craig also <br /> showed slides of the proposed development and pointed out green belts <br /> and open space areas. <br /> <br /> Bill Morrison, Dale Weston, Jack Goltermann, Chuck Seymour and <br /> Christine Pearson were among the members of the audience who state~ <br /> their reasons for bein~ opposed to the development. <br /> <br /> After considerable discussion, it was moved by Councilman Beratlis <br /> and seconded by Councilman Pearson that the public hearing be closed. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br />~ AYES: Councilmen Berat!is, Gerton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos a~d <br />~D Mayor Reid <br />~ NOES: None <br />~.~ ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilman Gerton stated that he was in favor of this town house tyDe <br /> of development because too much area covered with single family dwell- <br /> ings promote "urban sprawl~'. <br /> <br /> Councilman Spiliotopoulos stated that he thought that this town house <br /> concept, with open space and green belt areas, was an excellent one. <br /> <br /> .... ~fter more discussion, it was moved by Councilman Pearson that the <br /> application of First Pleasanton investors, be denied. <br /> <br /> The motion died for lack of a second. <br /> <br /> It was then moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman <br /> Beratlis that Resolution No. 70-125, approving the application of <br /> First Pleasanton Investors to rezone, by amendment to the original <br /> P.U.D., from the RM-2500 and R-1-6500 Districts, to the C-F and RM-2000 <br /> Districts, that property described as Parcel 2-9, Assessor's ~ao Book <br /> 9~6, Block 1101, containing approximately 11.7 acres, and a portion <br /> of Parcel 6, Assessor's Map Book 99-B, Block 3950, Page 1, containir~g <br /> approximately 9.1 acres, more commonly known as that property immed- <br /> iately south of Interstate Route 580 and east of TassaJara Road, be <br /> ~dopted. <br /> <br /> Councilman Pearson made a substitute motion to rezone from R~-2500 <br /> to RM-4000. <br /> <br /> His substitute motion died for lack of a second. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote on Councilman Gerton's motion~ was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Gerton and Spiliotopoulos <br /> ~OES: Councilman Pearson and Mayor Reid <br /> A~&ENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid recessed the meeting a 9:55 P.M.° <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid reconvened the meeting at 10:10 P.M. <br /> <br /> ~IATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision. <br /> <br /> SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> There were no special reports scheduled for this meetin~ <br /> <br /> 2. 6-8 <br /> <br /> <br />
