Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Fales read a letter from Mr. D. E. Stucker, Regional Manager, Greyhound <br /> Lines, dated April 9, 1970, requesting a minor change in routing thru Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fales announced the Mayors and Councilmens Institute May 20-22, 1970, and <br /> urged the Council attendance to this Conference. <br /> <br />.... Mr. Fales stated that information regarding Ordinance No. 580, and the en- <br /> forcement thereof, was sent to the Councilmen for their information. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br /> Consideration of Actions Pertaining to Util~ty.Vault Company <br /> 1. AgDroval of Permit to establish a t~mporary sewage facilit~ <br /> 2. A__D~roval of Agreement with Utilit~ Vault and approval of letter of understand- <br /> ~ng from Kaiser Sand and Gr~vel~ Re: Water Line <br /> Mr. Hlrst reviewed last week's action and his reports, and recommended <br /> approval of this Agreement and Permit. <br /> Councilman Beratlis stated he had been in contact with Kaiser Sand and Gravel, <br /> and they were favorable to certain changes and amendments to this agreement. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Beratlis and seconded by Councilman Gerton that <br /> Resolution No. 70-94, approving the agreement with Utility Vault Company pertain- <br /> ing to the installation of utilities to the site of their proposed plant adjacent <br /> to Kaiser Sand and Gravel property, and approving a permit to establish a temporary <br /> sewage facility, both approvals being subject to the conditions outlined in the <br /> r~ports of the City Attorney, the letters from Utility Vault Company and Kaiser <br /> Sand and Gravel, and the additional condition suggested by Councilman Beratlis, <br /> to wit: 1) that approval for the temporary sewage facility permit, the agreement, <br /> and the issuance of a building permit to Utility Vaulty Company be conditfoned <br /> specifically upon the fact that Kaiser Sand and Gravel will commence physical <br /> installation of all necessary facilities to the area in question within a period <br /> of one year from date of issuance of the building permit; 2) that the same con° <br /> dition as recited in No. 1 above shall pertain to the development of the Ken Best <br /> property, the remaining Kaiser property, and property owned and being developed <br /> by Castcon, at such time as these properties are developed, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Getton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> COMMUNICATIONS <br /> Mr. Fales read a letter from Mr. Warren M. Annis, Secretary-Manager, P.T.C.W.D. <br /> regarding a joint meeting with the Water District and City Council. Mr. Fales was <br /> instructed to schedule this meeting for either May 26 or May 28, 1970. <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid read an invitation from the Pleesanton Fire Department regarding a <br /> challenge to the City Council to enter a Bucket Brigade Team at the Ftreman's <br /> Muster on June 6, 1970. <br /> <br /> MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> Councilman Gerton suggested that the City Council meet with the Pleasanton <br /> Mousing Authority regarding obligations and responsibil~ties to Kottinger and <br /> Xomandorski residents. <br /> <br /> Councilman Spiliotopoulos stated there was no Greyhound Bus shelter and asked <br /> that something be done to provide some sort of shelter with the least possible <br /> cost involved. <br /> <br /> Councilman Pearson asked the Council to take a stand on Assembly Bill 1271, <br /> a bill designed to require developers to dedicate land for school sites. Council- <br /> man Pearson noted that Livermore City Council has endorsed the bill and said he <br /> would move a similar position. Councilman Gerton said the Council should sche- <br /> dule a study session on the item. Councilman Beratlis said he would like to see <br /> a copy of the bill. Councilman Pearson stated that time is of the essence. <br /> Mayor Reid suggested postponing the item to next Monday to give the staff a <br /> chance to distribute copies of the bill and to obtain the opinion of the school <br /> ~taff. <br /> <br /> Mayor Reid stated he had received a copy of the Environmental Bill of Rights <br /> by th~ California Assembly Select Committee on Environmental Quality, dated March, <br /> 1970~ <br /> <br /> <br />
