The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AX~S: Councilmen Beratlis, Getton and Spiliotopoulos <br /> NOES: Councilman Pearson and Mayor Reid <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> A__do_ption of Resolution authorizing. the filing of the above anneratlon (W~ler/PerrV <br /> and Mornstein prop,Fried) with the L.A.F.C. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Gerton and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos <br /> that Resolution No. 70-92, authorizing the filing of annexation of the Wyler/Perry <br /> and Hornstein properties with the L.A.F.C., be adopted. <br /> T~.e roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Getton, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid <br /> NOES: Councilman Pearson <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> There were no special reports scheduled for this meeting. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> These items appeared under the Consent Calendar. <br /> <br />~"D REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />~,~ R_~port Re: Proposed Fee Increase for Summer Aquatics Prpgram <br />{--) Mr. Fales reviewed his report dated April 24, 1970, and the report of the <br /> Director of Recreation, dated April 22, 1970. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Gerton <br /> that Resolution No. 70-93, approving an increase in the fee structure for the <br /> aquatic program operated by the Recreation Department, as recommended in the re- <br /> port of the Director of Recreation, dated April 22, 1970, be adopted. <br /> Tt;e roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Getton, Pearson, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Reid <br /> -- NOES: None <br /> ABSZNT: None <br /> <br /> ~ort Re: Determination of Public Benefit;.!~provements in Tract No. 2892 <br /> ILon~view) <br /> Mr. Fales reviewed the report of the Assistant City Manager and previous re- <br /> ports regarding the development of Tract 2892, Longview. <br /> Ted Fairfield, MacKay and Somps Engineers, representing Dr. Long, explained <br /> the application of public benefit for use of bonds for the first phase development <br /> of seven lots. He stated the original total area was too costly to develop at <br /> this time, so the area has been divided into two pieces, with access roads and <br /> utilities already available, and the public trail system started. Mr. Fairfield <br /> displayed maps and explained the drainage problems and aesthetic planning of the <br /> area. <br /> Bert Hoosevortspoke in favor of the hiking trail system and the public use of <br /> the beautiful range of hills. <br /> Dion Hock, 804 Happy Valley Road, presented an article to the Mayor and spoke <br /> in favor of the riding trails, and stated the need of horse trails in the Happy <br /> Valley area. <br /> John Long, 512 Neal Street, spoke in favor of this development with regard to <br /> low density estate type spectrum, which is needed for balance in Pleasanton. <br /> Councilman Spiliotopoulos questioned the possible protests which may arise <br /> from property owners with regard to the public trail system. <br /> Councilman Pearson questioned the proposal as being precedent setting. <br /> Dr. Long displayed pictures of the area. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilman Getton and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that <br /> approval of Determination of Public Benefit; Improvements in Tract No. 2892, <br /> Longview, be granted. <br /> <br /> After further discussion, Councilman Getton withdrew his motion and Councilman <br /> Beratlis withdrew his second, as stated above. <br /> ~yor Reid declared this item continued one week to the meeting of May 4, <br /> 1970, for further consideration. <br /> <br /> <br />
