P_rogrems Repprt Re: La~dscaping along Railroad Rights-of-Way <br /> Mr. Fales reported on the meeting he artended on April 14, 1970, in San <br />Francisco. He stated that some twenty five cities, the P.U.D. staff and repre- <br />sentatives from four railroad companies were in attendance at this meeting. He <br />concluded by reporting that it was decided that an ad hoc committee from the <br />interested cities would be formed, with the League of California Cities acting <br />as the coordinator, and this committee will study and evaluate the beautification <br />along railroad rights-of-way and endeavor to formulate a proposal in writing to <br />the P.U.D. staff by June 15, 1970. He also reported that this report will be <br />evaluated and presented to the railroad companies by July 15th. <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> Mr. Fales stated the population estimate taken by the State Department of <br />Finance had been received and as of March 1, 1970, they had estimated the City of <br />Pleasanton's population to be 17,900. He further stated that this was an increase <br />of 3,300 people over the previous year. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY ATTORNEY <br />Introduction of the Proposed Municipal Code <br /> Mr. Hirst reviewed his report, dated April 9, 1970, and recommended that the <br />ordinance adopting the Municipal Code be introduced and the Public Hearing be set <br />for May 4, 1970. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that <br />Ordinance No. 598, adopting the Municipal Code by reference, be introduced and <br />the public hearing be set for May 4, 1970. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Rega <br /> <br />Consideration of Actions Pertaining to Utility Vault Company <br />1. App~0val of Permit to establish a temporary sewaXe facility <br />2. Approval of Agreement with Utility Vault and approval of letter of understandin__F <br /> from Kaiser Sand and Gravel~. ~e~ water Line <br /> Mr. Hirst explained that Kaiser Sand and Gravel has been attempting to <br />develop an industrial park on lands adjacent to its plant, and Utility Vault Com- <br />pany has purchased some appropriately zoned property from Kaiser. Mr. Hirst re- <br />viewed his report, dated April 9, 1970, in which he recommended that a resolution <br />be adopted that would include the following: <br />1) That the Utility Vault Company be granted a permit pursuant to Section No. 4 <br /> of Ordinance No. 442 to maintain an interim sewage system in the form of a <br /> sealed tank until permanent sewer facilities are installed. <br />2)That the proposed agreement between the City and the Utility Vault Company <br /> be approved. <br />3) Allude to the receipt of a letter of understanding from Kaiser Sand and Gravel <br /> Company relating to the installation of sewer, storm drainage and water <br /> facilities to serve Utility Vault's and surrounding parcels. <br /> <br /> Discussion ensued regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilman Beratlis had several questions of the Director of Public Works. <br />Councilman Beratlis suggested that this entire matter be held over for discussion <br />on April 27th in order that it may be studied further for one week. <br /> <br />A_p. Eroval of Temporary Water Connection A~reement with Foothill Associates <br /> Mr. Hirst reviewed the Temporary Water Connection Agreement with Foothill <br />Associates and recommended its approval. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that <br />Resolution No. 70-82, authorizing the execution of the Temporary Water Connection <br />Agreement with Foothill Associates, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br />?JOGS: None <br />~BSENT: Councilman Rega <br /> <br />!~_~?J_~al of Resolution and Setting of Public Hearin~ Re: Weed Abatement <br /> Mr. Hirst reviewed the proposed resolution regarding Weed Abatement and re- <br /> coF~ended that the public hearing be set for May 4, 1970. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Reid that <br />Resolution No. 70-83, declaring that weeds, rubbish or refuse upon or in front of <br />certain described properties within the City of pleasanton constitute public <br />nuisances and that the same shall be abated, and setting the public hearing for <br />May 4, 1970, be adopted. 4. <br /> <br /> <br />
