No. 520 [ezonin~ from the A <br /> /Agricultural) District to the C-N (N~i~hborhogd Commercial) Dis~ict~ t~at proDerr~ <br /> described as a nei~hborhood c0mmerci~l center within Tract No. 2905 <br /> Mr. Castro reviewed the background of this application and stated that the <br /> Planning Commission, at its meeting on March 25, 1970, adopted Resolution No. 477, <br /> unanimously approving the rezoning of the 6.8 net acre parcel within Tract No. 2905 <br /> to the C-N District. Mr. Castro further sta:ed that proof of acquisition by the <br /> applicant of an "anchor tenant" is not necessary. <br /> Mayor Gerton declared the public hearing open. <br /> Mr. Ted Fairfield, MacKay & Somps Engineers, representing Mackay Homes, re- <br /> ported that the subject site was 20% less than the area of the Amador Shopping <br /> Center and the proposed floor area was greater than 20% less than that of Amador <br /> Shopping Center which will allow more open space for landscaping and parking areas. <br /> There being no public protest, it was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by <br /> Councilman Beratlis that the public hearing be closed. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Rega <br /> <br /> After some discussion on this matter, it was moved by Councilman Beratlis and <br /> seconded by Councilman Reid, that Ordinance No. 597, amending Ordinance No. 520, <br /> rezoning from the Agricultural District to the Commercial-Neighborhood District <br /> that property described as a 6.4 net acre neighborhood commercial center within <br /> Tract No. 2905, be introduced. <br /> The roll call vote was as fo.llows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Betaills, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Rega <br /> <br /> ~pp~al of Morrison Homest 470 2.7,th St.~ Oakl~nd~ from an adverse decision of the <br />-- Planning Commission in denying an aDDlicatie~ to fezone from the A (Agricu. ltural) <br /> pjgtrict,..to the RM-1500 (Multiple Fami~7) District, that propert7 described as <br /> Parcel 2~ Assessor's Map Book R4~, Block 3265,~containin~ approx. 3.34 acres, more <br /> commonly described as lyin~ ,immediately nor:~ of the E1Rancho Motel on the west <br /> side of Santa Rita Road <br /> Mr. Fales stated that he has received a request from the applicant to continue <br /> this matter until May 11, 1970. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that this <br /> public hearing be continued until May 11, 1970. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Betaills, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Getton <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Rega <br /> <br /> MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision. <br /> <br /> SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> There were no special reports scheduled for this meeting. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> There were no reports of Boards and Commissions, other than those submitted witl <br /> the Consent Calendar. <br /> <br /> REPORTS OF THE CITY ~,~NAGER <br />' R__~port of the Director of Public Works Re: Sidewalks-Kot~inger Drive between <br /> Pleasanton Gardens and First Street <br /> Mr. Fales reviewed the report of the Director of Public Works, dated April 8, <br /> ]070, which outlined two possible alternates regarding cost and types of con- <br /> struction of the subject sidewalks. <br /> Mr. Fales recommended that the permanent type sidewalk be installed on the <br /> north side of Kottinger Drive at a cost estrt~ated at $1,000.00, which can be re- <br /> couped under the applicable provisions of ti~ Streets and Highways Code. <br /> It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Spiliotopoulos that <br /> the City Attorney be instructed to prepare the proceedings to be initiated by the <br /> City Council under the provisions of the Streets and Highways Code for the con- <br /> struction of a sidewalk on the north side of Kottinger Drive. <br /> The roll call vote was. as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Rega <br /> 3. <br /> <br /> <br />
