The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman Rega CO~MJNICATIONS Letter from Pleasanton Youth~ Inc.~ commending City Attorney Mr. Fales read a letter from Mr. Brad Hirst, President of the Pleasanton Youth, Incorporated, in ~hich he commended Mr. William Hirst, City Attorney, for his time and assistance in drawing up the Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws for Pleasanton Youth, Incorporated. Letter from Mr. Stan Berk~ Business Man~er,.Murray School District Re: Besco School Mr. Fales read a letter from Mr. Stan Berk, Business Manager for the Murray School District, in which he expressed the Murray School District Board of Trustees' appreciation to the City of Pleasanton and Mr. Alan Campbell, in particular, for assistance in alleviating the water drainage problem at the Besco School site. ~ Letter from Dr. H. F Lon~ M.D. Re: Tract 2892~ Longview h'~ ' ' GO Mr. Fales read a letter from Dr. Howard Long, developer of Tract No. 2892, ~D Longview, in which he stated that plans to develope Phase I of Longview are now ~_~ in progress and asked the City to reaffirm its position on the 1915 Bond Act. L~ Dr. Long also listed several statements relating to "public benefit". Mr. Ted Fairfield, MacKay & Somps, representing Dr. Long, displayed a map and pointed out the area involved in Phase I. Councilman Reid requested a report from the staff which is to contain complete information on the "public interest" statements contained in Dr. Long's letter. Mr. Fales stated he would have a report ready for the Council meeting of April 27, 1970. Letter from Pleasanton Police Association Mr. Fales read a letter of invitation to the City Council to attend the Police Association's Annual Lasagne Dinner at the Veterans M~norial Building at 6:30 P.M. on April 28, 1970. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS In answer to Councilman Betaills' question, Mr. Fales responded that his re- port on the utilization of off-duty pollcement to patrol parking violations was not ready yet. Councilman Reid reported on the Senate and Assembly Bills discussed at the League of California Cities Dinner meeting of April 17th, 1970. Discussion re- garding these bills ensued. Councilman Reid was asked to give the list of these bills to the City Manager in order that he can place them on next week's agenda for further discussion and disposition. Mayor Getton stated that Mrs. Shirley Casterson had resigned from the General Plan Review Committee because of the recent accident her husband had. Mayor Getton asked the Councilmen to consider a replacement for her on this committee in the very near future. MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC No one addressed the Chair. ADJOURNMENT There being no further business at 10:20 P.M., it was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the meeting be adjourned to meet again in Adjourned Regular Session at 8:00 P.M., on Tuesday, April 21, 1970.
