The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilman Rega <br /> <br /> CO~MJNICATIONS <br /> Letter from Pleasanton Youth~ Inc.~ commending City Attorney <br /> Mr. Fales read a letter from Mr. Brad Hirst, President of the Pleasanton Youth, <br /> Incorporated, in ~hich he commended Mr. William Hirst, City Attorney, for his time <br /> and assistance in drawing up the Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws for <br /> Pleasanton Youth, Incorporated. <br /> <br /> Letter from Mr. Stan Berk~ Business Man~er,.Murray School District Re: Besco <br /> School <br /> Mr. Fales read a letter from Mr. Stan Berk, Business Manager for the Murray <br /> School District, in which he expressed the Murray School District Board of Trustees' <br /> appreciation to the City of Pleasanton and Mr. Alan Campbell, in particular, for <br /> assistance in alleviating the water drainage problem at the Besco School site. <br />~ Letter from Dr. H. F Lon~ M.D. Re: Tract 2892~ Longview <br /> h'~ ' ' <br />GO Mr. Fales read a letter from Dr. Howard Long, developer of Tract No. 2892, <br />~D Longview, in which he stated that plans to develope Phase I of Longview are now <br />~_~ in progress and asked the City to reaffirm its position on the 1915 Bond Act. <br />L~ Dr. Long also listed several statements relating to "public benefit". <br /> Mr. Ted Fairfield, MacKay & Somps, representing Dr. Long, displayed a map and <br /> pointed out the area involved in Phase I. <br /> Councilman Reid requested a report from the staff which is to contain complete <br /> information on the "public interest" statements contained in Dr. Long's letter. <br /> Mr. Fales stated he would have a report ready for the Council meeting of <br /> April 27, 1970. <br /> <br /> Letter from Pleasanton Police Association <br /> Mr. Fales read a letter of invitation to the City Council to attend the Police <br /> Association's Annual Lasagne Dinner at the Veterans M~norial Building at 6:30 P.M. <br /> on April 28, 1970. <br /> <br /> MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCIL MEMBERS <br /> In answer to Councilman Betaills' question, Mr. Fales responded that his re- <br /> port on the utilization of off-duty pollcement to patrol parking violations was <br /> not ready yet. <br /> <br /> Councilman Reid reported on the Senate and Assembly Bills discussed at the <br /> League of California Cities Dinner meeting of April 17th, 1970. Discussion re- <br /> garding these bills ensued. <br /> Councilman Reid was asked to give the list of these bills to the City Manager <br /> in order that he can place them on next week's agenda for further discussion and <br /> disposition. <br /> <br /> Mayor Getton stated that Mrs. Shirley Casterson had resigned from the General <br /> Plan Review Committee because of the recent accident her husband had. Mayor <br /> Getton asked the Councilmen to consider a replacement for her on this committee in <br /> the very near future. <br /> <br /> MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> No one addressed the Chair. <br /> <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> There being no further business at 10:20 P.M., it was moved by Councilman Reid <br /> and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the meeting be adjourned to meet again in <br /> Adjourned Regular Session at 8:00 P.M., on Tuesday, April 21, 1970. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYD~: Councilmen Beratlis, Reid, Spiliotopoulos and Mayor Gerton <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSE~E: Councilman Rega <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br /> ~RNARD T.~GERTON~ Mayor <br /> 5. <br /> <br /> <br />
