Hornbeck advised that the developing of this park would commence immediately and should be ready for use by late September of 1970, Discussion ensued regarding ingress and egress and traffic in general. Mr. Walter Toney displayed the Master Plan of the Park which showed the swim- ming and boating facilities, picnic areas, parking lots, and food service facilities. Mayor Gerton declared a recess at 10:25 P.M. and excused the Boy Scouts from the meeting. M~yor Gerton reconvened the meeting at 10:40 P.M. Discussion of the Shadow Cliffs Park continued. Both Mayor Getton and Mr. Fales reviewed the history of this proposed park. Mr. Fales stated that the advantages of having this park in Pleasanton far outweighed the problems that may arise regarding maintenance, police and fire services. Councilman Spiliotopoulos stated that he felt that there would be a considerable amount of problems with the activation of this proposed park. It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that the City of Pleasanton express appreciation for and approval of the plans for the ~'~ Shadow Cliff Park and urge the Bay Area Regional Park District to proceed. It was moved by Councilman Spiliotopoulos and seconded by Councilman Rega that Ordinance No. 590, new Traffic Ordinance, be adopted.
