.~`'c <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />Discussion Re: Review of Pleasanton General Plan <br />Councilman Rega indicated that when he previously suggested that a Committee be <br />formed for the review of the Pleasanton General Plan, the City Manager had some <br />reservations regarding this matter. Councilman Rega stated that he felt that <br />several parts of the General Plan needed review; namely, 1) that the 4.7 average <br />density per gross acres, 2) the commercial zoning within the City, 3) the growth <br />~~ rate of the City, and 4) some of the policies stated on the General Plan Map re- <br />garding residential areas. Councilman Rega indicated that a 25 member Citizens <br />Committee would be sufficient to undertake these charges. <br />After considerable discussion by the City Council, it was moved by Councilman <br />Rega and seconded by Councilman Reid that the staff be instructed to outline a <br />charge for a 25 member citizens committee to review the Pleasanton General Plan <br />in the areas of 1) 4.7 average density per gross acres in the residential areas, <br />and 2) regulation of a growth rate within the City and if this was felt necessary, <br />how to implement said regulation. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />C^ ABSENT: Councilman Spiliotopoulos <br />~ Councilman Spiliotopoulos had absented himself from the meeting at 9:45 P.M., <br />~ due to illness. <br />tJ <br />V <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br />There were no Special Reports scheduled for this meeting. <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMNIISSIONS <br />ReQort of the Recreation and Park Commission Re: Recommended resolution encouragin <br />East Bay Regional Park District to commence planning and negotiation processes in <br />order to implement an inter-cam bicycle trail system in eastern Alameda and Contra <br />Costa Counties <br />Mr. Edgar reviewed the report and resolution adopted by the Recreation and Park <br />Commission. <br />It was moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Councilman Beratlis that Re- <br />solution No. 70-12, encouraging the East Bay Regional Park District to commence <br />planning and negotiation processes in order to implement an inter-city bicycle <br />trail system in eastern Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmen Beratlis, Rega, Reid and Mayor Gerton <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilman Spiliotopoulos <br />Mayor Gerton declared a recess at 9:50 P. M. <br />Mayor Gerton reconvened the meeting at 10:10 P.
